It works great on all 5 of my sportbikes. I have them installed in the middle of my handlebar yoke, which protects the w702 with the fairings and windscreen. Also, I can see my sportbike dashes with no issue.

That's great! It works on my BMW R1250RT-P, but not so much on the small naked bikes!

I purchased 2 of these, one for each or our CanAm's (Spyder F3 and Ryker). The mounting was quick and easy, wiring straightforward, and there is plenty of room on our reverse-trikes handlebars. I was able to pair with an Android phone and Cardo Packtalk to listen to music (Spotify) and receive directions (Waze) at the same time. The only item of note is the same that you mentioned that once Android Auto starts you can't back out to the Carpuride main screen. I rarely need to access that screen once setup was complete but when I need to I just put my phone in airplane mode which turns Android Auto off right away, then I make my settings changes on the Carpuride, then turn my phones airplane mode back off, and then Android Auto automatically restarts/reconnects. I like the units and would recommend.

Thanks for the review. Have you tried it with riding gloves on? Do you need capacitive glove tips to touch the icons on the screen?

Additionally, I'm in the process of designing a 3D component intended for use with the original BMW mount. Could you please share a video showing the process of removing the screws? I'm interested in seeing how the back appears without the knot.

When I use it with Android Auto, the first icon on my apps overview page is one with a car on it that reads something like "exit" (sorry, can't tell what it exactly ready in English, as I use it in German). This one I can use to exit Android Auto and get back to the system screen.

Hi! After using both the 502 and tehe 702 for some time, are you happy with either device and with its size? Would the 702 be too big for a Ténéré above the dash? Thank you

If in your line of sight, the 502 would probably be fine. I run the 702 on my BMW R1250RT-P between the handlebars and it's adequate there. My Garmin Zumo XT2 is roughly 5 inches and I prefer that over the dash on my Multistrada V4

Does it have a universal style back plate to possibly swap out the Ram style mount for a direct cross bar mount?

There are four screws on the back that remove the RAM mount ball, I'm not sure exactly what universal Mount you're referring to, but you can remove the ram ball and replace it with a different solution if you have something that fits.

Thanks for the review. No one on these reviews show you how to actually connect your devices to the Carpuride. I have had nothing but trouble getting sound to go through my motorcycle intercom.

@@4KMotoring Thanks for replying, I have eventually got it working. I switched the audio from BTtrans to use Android Auto instead. I have found an exit button on Android Auto which takes you back to the home screen. I will try and upload a short video.

Direct battery cables are fine if you attach the positive wire to a switched ignition source. If you connect them directly to the battery itself it won't automatically shut down

@@4KMotoring another forum mentioned it auto shuts off even on batt cables after 4 minutes. it must detect charging voltage. i guess i would worry about vampire drain.

Not sure. I ran it off a lithium battery bank for more than 4 minutes without it shutting off in testing so I don't believe it has any such auto shut off, unless it's a setting somewhere that has to be checked. Even so, I'm not sure I would like a massive screen on my motorcycle staying illuminated for several minutes after I walk away from the bike inviting theft, I would just keep it hooked to an ignition wire and eliminate the issues all together

I connect mine to a healtech thunderbox which hooks up direct to the battery. Works wonders, will switch on whatever to connect to it when you start the bike, and switch off when the engine stops. Another positive on the Thunderbox, will not interfere with canbus.

If you plan on riding anywhere without cell service or map data, the Garmin wins. For urban commuting and highway road trips, it's hard to beat the Carpuride, though I would likely opt for the 5in version

i am getting very bad music sound [crackling] connection type - Phone Android Auto to Carpuride => Carpuride to Cardo Packtalk Black Note: phone is not connected to Packtalk Black when i reset everything and connect Only phone to cardo [ NO Carpuride ] the sound is back to normal Any solution

I have been testing and have been able to duplicate your issue, it seems whenever I make a phone call or engage voice commands the audio starts fading. I am still working through this to find a potential solution.

@@4KMotoring the problem is fixed for me, actualy when i change the default equalizer profile to anything else than standard, the issue happens, so i default it to standard and music is good.

Would have liked to see functionality without it being attached to a phone. Sure most will just use it as a screen for their phone but since it has stand-alone functionality, it'd be cool to see it.

Not sure exactly what you mean. It's a display for wireless Android Auto/Apple carplay. It doesn't offer anything useful if not connected to a phone

On a bike with a longer reach than the mt03 offers, maybe. I have a hard time endorsing anything that's going to cause you to take your eyes well off the road

​@@4KMotoringI'll send you an email with a picture of the 7" W702 on my 2024 Honda NC750X. Front and center, below the gauge cluster (LCD screen). I wired the fused battery leads to a Healtech Thunderbox, set to "automatic" (TB white wire not connected to anything) so it only turns the Carpuride and any other accessories on after the engine is running, not just by turning the ignition to "ON." This way you can't drain the battery playing with it while the engine isn't running. After the bike is turned off and the engine stops running, the Thunderbox shuts down all power to all connected accessories a few seconds later. The Ram mount and power plug make for quick and easy mounting and removal of the Carpuride, as desired and/or necessary. Since the NC750 has a "frunk" with a USB-C charging plug in it, I can leave my phone in the frunk charging while the Carpuride handles the navigation and music.

I'm done with Garmin changing the routes that I built in Basecamp, and once loaded to my XT, 590lm, and 595lm The route has changed a bit I now use Carpuride W702 with OsmAnd Plus + and use myroute-app to build my routes. It works great.

Doesn't work seamlessly with Cardo Pack Talk (or Sena S20) and iPhone 1) Cardo paired to iPhone (No music but does read out messages through Cardo) 2) Cardo paired to Carpuride (Has music but cannot control volume with Cardo. No easy volume control on Carpuride)

The underlying Carpuride UI leaves a bit to be desired. Personally, I find the difficult brightness adjustment to be problematic. I haven't tested it with iPhone, thanks for the feedback!
