Carpuride W903 - Is this the only in-car screen you need?

Can the Carpuride W903 be the one solution to upgrade your car's dashboard? I unpack, install, setup and use this 9.3" wide screen in my car.

Use the plate that comes with the window screen mount and put on tge dash. It's very strong. They are like silicone if you ever want to take it off. Bringing your carpurude forward hide the wires ( I superglued mine together not using the aux cable either) near your air vents and bring down the side where the steering wheel is and keep hiding it to the cigarette socket. Your back camera can be stuck on the fabric roof and faced toward the rear. Mine hasn't come off yet. If it does will use 2 tiny dots of superglue. I have no idea what the parking option is either. 😮 Looks like it's supposed to be with the app but there isn't anything

I don't doubt it can stick to the dash, but I am hesitant to put really strong adhesive on the dash made of leather and looking lovely. The cabling I would put behind/under the dash if at all possible. Hide them completely. Yeah, I still haven't figured out the parking option either 😂🤷‍♂

Hi - Great video, I might try it myself. But did you test the night video quality? and did you end up conneting the rear light o it?

The night video quality is as good as any other dash cam I have tried. It is very acceptable. I didn't connect the rear light, as I already have a rear cam on the car. It should be easy to do though.

The other mount should work better since your dashboard is pretty flat. Clean the surface with alcohol first for it to stick properly.

I'm not so sure. It's a kind of leather material that is textured. I'm also concerned if the glue from the tape will damage it.

Looks pretty good, especially for the price. Especially if your car has car features built into the head unit making it very hard to replace it without loosing features Instead of using the cigerette lighter, which is probably going to wiggle loose over time. The fuse box thats usually under the steering wheel usually has a few spare circuits, some with constant power, some with constant power, some on with accessories, so you can use a fuse tap to get power from it, and then get a usb power supply thats made to be hard-wired. Its what I've done in a few cars, all have had a spare circuit switched with accessories to use. All the cables are annoying, I wouldn't even mind a propiratry plug so there can be a singel cable that runs and is hidden under the dash, that has all the tails for the cables, so you at least don't have a whole bundle of cables running off the dash. I also just got a new (2nd hand) car that has android auto built in, and the HA android auto app works pretty well, just set a few favourites for grage door and gates etc, and you can control them from the car screen.

How interesting 🤔 I haven't delved into any extra circuits in the car but that is super helpful to know. I'm also not loving the cables. Ideally they are never seen! (As you say too). I have another car with a proper Android screen in it and the HA shortcuts is a super neat idea. I might do that in a video 😅

I think from reading the info on the Carpuride that the 'supplied' power cable is required if you intend to use the FM link (possibly acts as an arial). Otherwise I agree.

Have you tried to do phone call while android auto or carplay is connected? What is the quality of built in microphone? Unfortunately W903 and W905 don't have external mic port like some of other models from that brand.

Yeah, it is okay, not great. The mic is located on the right of the device, so in my case it is further away being in a left hand drive car. It sounds like I am in the car basically, but people can hear me okay.

Lars, not sure which one you have or paid for but the link you provide above seems not to have a rear camera supplied and is either an extra or pay more as a package for one that includes either a 'reversing' camera or a 'rear dvr (dashcam)' camera.

Ah right. That was the link the company provided me, and it came in the box I received. It is possible an extra, as some people might not need it.

Hehe, anyone that uses a dashcam and doesn't think they need a rear camera are nuts! Personally I think every new vehicle SHOULD have dashcams front, rear and sides with GPS/Times as standard.

Interesting product. Curious how it holds up to the rigour of country roads and the torturous temperatures of the dashboard.... Pricing, not too bad for a dash cam with a 9" screen. Might be nice upgrade from my agricultural set up of the Compaq amarda m300, hand made aluminium bracket, usb gps and MS Mappoint nutserted to the dash of the T3... Got us around Europe back in 2004. Yes I still have the Armada..... 😁

Yes, those are questions I can't answer after a few days of using the device. The temperature is definitely an issue, but it is relatively simple to remove when no driving, so you could do that for the summer months. Wow, Armada. That brings back memories....

How's the audio quality of the FM transmitter any static? I'm saving up to buy my dads Toyota Aurion 2009 which doesn't have modern features. Not sure whether to upgrade the factory head unit itself or buy something like the Carpuride?

It is decent. At times I did hear a bit of static coming through, but only at low volume. I suspect that also depends on what else is running in the car and at what frequency. If you can upgrade the head unit I'd always do that, but it is a lot more work and the units are often more expensive by a factor of 5 at least.

Do not bay will break in few day's or week's hands-free, freeze etc. talk like robot if you like to send product back they will say the product can get or they can make lost I think.....

Spotted the same comment from you on other vids. I've spent a bit of time checking all the reviews on here Amazon etc - they are vast majority positive, including the comments for CS. If you purchased from amazon - just return. Pointless spamming all vids though as it won't help you, and it's not that informative TBH. Ordered one though along with a CD slot holder. Main problem I have found, nowhere can I find what the max Micros SD card capacity is...???

@@tracymoon4437 Actually... lol... my one was a duffer and the manufacturer was no help. Very dangerous bit of kit. Especially when it starts blasting music out on the M6 and you can't stop it, just keeps reconnecting despite the apps being killed, really is very buggy... Obviously had a bad unit but the manufacturer - like I say were less than helpful... Most of the positive feedbacks were the "vines" - free products, and they were not all 5 stars. If you are going to try one - amazon - for the cover....
