The waze report button should be on the bottom left side of the screen, not the right. Why make the driver reach over like that when they're most likely to use that feature while driving? Would forgive that if its a modify-able location.

On the Way app is not free. It has a free trial but after that, charges $24.99 per year. Cheaper to look at the Weather app on the phone.

Just add them to your phone in the normal way I think. Not many are compatible with CarPlay.

Does google map get stuck on navigation with CarPlay? It does on my 23 Hyundai Elantra hybrid limited. No issues with Apple Maps. I believe your infotainment system is actually same as mine.

On my '22 VW Taigo CarPlay, on a long road trip GMaps and Waze used to randomly go offline, but Apple Maps never did that. And the infotainment would just restart randomly as well. Which was frustrating because my stops and waypoints are in GMaps. But since taking it for the 9,300 miles scheduled service at the dealership, it has not had these issues. I think they did a software update or refresh.

so for how long CarPlay is in the cars, we have actually very few useful apps available. Every major app has a CarPlay option, but most of them don't. Im actually interested in developing apps for CarPlay once my EV6 arives. Im gathering ideas at the moment.

You can get a dongle that allows you to run Android on the app. Kind of like having an actual tablet. There's even a dongle that lets you use the screen with Samsung Dex.

It should pop up automatically just like you download apps on your iPhone. If it’s not showing up, you can also try going to your iPhone settings > general > CarPlay > select the car > and customize. You should be able to see the apps you’ve installed that are compatible with CarPlay. If it still doesn’t work, I will suggest getting a hold of Apple Support .

I just moved to the iPhone from Android a couple of months ago. There are some things each OS does better than the other but those are just little issues. When it comes to automobile integration Android Auto is far and away better.

Are you legit kidding? I have both the iPhone 13 pro and Samsung s21+ and a brand new Toyota hilux 4x4 which cost me $70kAUD and I can tell you Android auto runs like a absolute bucket of crap. Car play shits all over Android auto in almost every way. The only thing I wish apple would let you do is change the tile lay out. The maps and music is fine, but that one in the top left needs to go.
