Carradine's Cockney Singalong - Wilton's Music Hall.
Wilton's Music Hall is the oldest surviving music hall in the world and once a month Tom Carradine invites you to an old school cockney knees-up singalong, just like in the old days!
Tom Carradine comes fully kitted-out with handle bar moustache and spats, and the people who attend are of all ages and different eccentricities. You will fit in no matter who you are.
Wilton's is a beautiful Victorian building where they filmed Interview With A Vampire, Chaplin and A Picture of Dorian Gray. The Can Can was first performed here in 1859 and even the great Julian McDonnell has performed here too in a pop video.
Wilton's started life as a pub called The Prince of Denmark and was known as The Mahogany Bar because it was the first bar to use mahogany fixtures. When it was bought by John Wilton in the 1850s he bought up all the surrounding land and turned the back room into this huge music hall. It was then taken over my methodists who didn't have the resources to renovate it so when it re-opened as a music hall all the interior was exactly the same as it was in Victorian times. Come and raise the roof of this lovely building at Tom Carradine's Cockney singalong!
Tom Carradine's Cockney Singalong has now moved to Mr Fogg's Tavern in St Martin's Lane. Every Thursday night! Come and have a knees up!!!
