Supermodel Carré Otis is coming out with a new memoir titled Beauty, Disrupted, where she candidly writes about everything from her past drug use and an eating disorder to her notoriously volatile relationship with ex-husband Mickey Rourke.According to Otis, it was something like love at first sight between the two when they met during her audition for the 1990 film Wild Orchid."I think that that initial meeting was an immediate familiarity," she tells correspondent Christina McLarty. "It was sort of recognition of somebody who I knew there was an incredible charge with, and energy between. So in a way it was that 'dangerous at first sight' ...and now I think, I know better -- those are the red flags." (ETonline.com)

I read Carrie's book and the truth is she was involved in heavy duty drugs going all the way back to her early teen years - she had led an extremely choatic life long before she met Rourke. She was a heroin addict which she doesn't talk about in these interviews and that was a big source of friction between her and Rourke. Both Carrie and Mickey were extremely messed up and emotionally wounded - I guess that's why they got married. At least Rourke isn't using the past to sell himself.

She keeps saying about some abuse but she is never brave enough to say "I was a f up drug addict and Mickie had trouble because he publicly put my dealer into hospital" no! Now when she is sober she keeps pointing at him as a bad choice of a relationship... kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnfRk4iQrNuib5o fast forward to 04:00

Let's set the record straight, Yes Mickey was no saint and he had a drinking problem and anger issues. Carrie was just as bad if not worse, she hit Mickey and also she was a terrible heroin junkie. That is one of the reasons why Mickey is not with her anymore, that is why Carrie disappeared for so many years and no one remembers her anymore. Just as well, I looked in her eyes in this interview and I can tell she is lying and exaggerating. Mickey has turned his life around, and has a good heart.

I wouldn't pin the problem or blame on either one of them. They were each both abusive and abused, but there was no one villain, they were sick, addicted, damaged human beings. The only difference I can see here is that Mickey is acknowledging this and owning his own issues. Carre is still trying to shift the whole blame onto him. They victimized each other, yes, but more importantly, they were doing it first to themselves. Carre needs to correctly and evenly apportion responsibility.

What exactly IS that button? And who are you trying to justify here? I see you trying to defend Mickey by saying (OMG) at least he didn't PHYSICALLY abuse her, and wasn't an addict. Are you fucking kidding? Mentally and emotionally he tore that woman to shreds. And since he wasn't chemically addicted, that makes it not so bad?? Give it a rest. Carre Otis was a rising super model whose career got cut short by her relationship with Mickey Rourke. This young girl with a troubled past and naivete was swept up by Hollywood and Mickey Rourke. That's why manipulative older men tend to hook up with these impressionable young girls. Most women who have been around the block a few times will not put up with this nonsense like his insane jealousy and temper. These men prey on the younger girls for that reason, they can be manipulated and brainwashed easily. Many 20 year olds do not know what they want in life. Carre tried very hard to get away from him, and Mickey just stalked her almost to death. Thank god she got rid of him and the heroin habit he introduced her to. Mickey Rourke has always been sketchy.

The very fact that she needs to talk about Mickey to get any form of attention should underline who the public cares more about. Even the interviewer could care less about her book, she just keeps asking about Mickey. Good or bad, it’s all about Mickey. And now that he’s back, Carrie can only dream....

Sounds like you're saying that because she was drinking and doing drugs that she's somehow partially responsible for her partner's domestic violence towards her. That's pretty fucked up. As long as she wasn't physically violent towards him, then he had no right to be violent towards her.

I was around their crowd back then. Mickey’s trainer was a friend of mines bf and the deal was that she was on heroin and he beat the hell out of the dealer. She was just too young and he really was larger than life at the time in LA. I remember he had a club called Tattoo in Beverly Hills. I really don’t think he was that bad but he did abuse her she says. I never saw that but I only saw them a few times. We also owned a storage where he stored a bunch of things like the motorcycle from Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man. I got a photo of me on it.

She may have been in denial for some time. Perhaps facing the demons of a past relationship was too painful. You can't assume the accusations are false because they were made 20 years later. My girlfriend was abused as a child by a couple of family associates, and then later on by boyfriends as a young adult. She has only now started discussing the torment 20 years later.

She divorced him when she was 30, after a 6 year turbulent marriage marred by his temper and her heroin addiction. She would have been 24 when she married him, that's hardly a kid. She'd been on her own since she was 16 modeling and being grown. So she wasn't this innocent victim. She was equally responsible for messing up her life and getting back on track. What a hollow interview. Her responses are so vague, rehearsed and as fake as her face.

What nonsense!! Mickey is the NICEST of guys, EVER! I met him years ago. He is THE most down to earth sweet guy, without trying to hit on you! Just a genuine nice guy! And I was a model at the time! He could so easily have taken advantage of his position, or acted snooty or full of himself. I was forever impressed with his behaviour and just who/how he was. Sweet funny, down to earth, nice genuinely interested in others, regardless of their standing in society, etc. He was truly a breath of fresh air in this plastic world, and especially seeing as he moved in the plastic world of movies, fame, etc. Can't believe what this woman is saying about him....

I agree with what u're saying.Mickey did lead a rough and tumble life with his Miami gang/hell's angel connections so I can see him pulling a gun on her to scare her rather than to harm her. She's said that Mickey was actually not a drug user or a big drinker. She's the one who had a heroin issue & Mickey's said she doesn't even remember the things that happened. Why would a woman with 2 kids just NOW want to publish this? Cashing in on her ex's newly re-found fame? His other ex is doing it too.
