When John De Courcy grew too powerful and disobeyed King John’s orders the King sent men to arrest him. De Courcy was quietly praying in Down Cathedral when the King’s men came to arrest him. Unarmed, De Courcy grabbed a sword from one of the men and slew 13 before finally being apprehended. Absolute badass ❤

de courcy built my towns castle and its still the oldest lived in one today north and south
