Trust me, you *_do_* want to get a colonoscopy, if you're over 50. I had one, had polyps. They removed them, then scheduled me for another in 3y (normally would be 5y, but "polyps")... The second one, there was a lump. 3 days later, I saw a surgeon. A week after that, I was in surgery. 4d later, I was out. And the good part was, caught it early, didn't need any chemo or radiation. 1 -- Thank GOD for American Insurance processes. If I'd been in Canada, it would have been too late in the year to get to SEE a surgeon, they're done for the year by then (they only are allowed to do a fixed number!) So it would have been probably 3-5 MONTHS to get the surgery, and who knows how much worse it would have been. *Socialized medicine is shit.* "But what if you can't afford it?" Well, this is what charity is about. I'd rather depend on the charity of others than the charity of a bureaucrat with a list of rules in front of them. 😉 2 -- Get colonoscopies -- yeah, they are -- _literally_ -- a pain in the ass. And you have to be wary of what to eat several days before, and even what you drink (avoid stuff with red dyes and coloring, like red Mountain Dew or cranberry juice). You want clear stuff as much as possible, but, unlike Carrie's mother, don't just drink water except for the very last part, you do need to get sugar at least. 🤔
