She tried to reject Big when she was with Aidan but he was pushy and kinda creepy calling all the time and threatning to confront Aidan until she gave in to him and fell back into his control again. Anyone sane would consider Big a mistake but to do so after years of marriage is insane and very cold. It would have made sense if she realized he was a mistake after he stood her up at their first wedding and never took him back though, they could've brought Aidan back at that point instead. Now it's just pathetic.

Carrie never knew what she wanted. When she was with the russian she considered dumping him because he didnt want kids. If she had stayed with Aidan she would probably have agreed to kids eventually. The only things Carrie truly loves and knows she wants is shoes, money and attention. In real life she would've cheated on Big a million times and he would either have done the same or been too old and tired to care, since he realistically only married her to not die alone.

Big was a mistake, but only for Carrie, not in general. The issue was, that Carrie had a complex of inferiority, that a man like Big would never take her seriously, and partially, big was to blame for this, since he treated her as such. So, she spend all her time proving herself, everyone around and, most importantly, big, that she was worth it. Hence, she never gave Aidan, or others, for that matter, a chance and sabotaged each and every budding relationship, which could end up a fairytale. In many ways, we are the same. We have relationships, then we move on (kinda) when they dont work out, but we NEVER forget the ONE who created a doubt in our heads about who we are and our worth. So, to sum up, it's a real-life experience for many of us and I am glad we are talking about it. And yes, to reiterate, Big WAS a huge mistake for Carrie.

Big and Carrie, deserves each other. They shouldn’t bring Aiden back for the sake of the viewers even we all think he a really good guy. The fact that Carrie broke his heart and never had chemistry with him… it’s not realistic.

And its even worse Miranda “supporting” this when in the show Miranda was the one who kept Carrie down to earth! Wow...the writers did screw the series... None of the characters was genuine in the past series as it seems... Carrie is such a loser she can't love anybody, and she tries to pin it on everyone else... Miranda destroyed Steve's life, Charlotte failed as the mother she wanted to be... This is what happens when you sleep around. Our emotions get involved, and instead of picking someone, making a commitment based on shared values and attraction and love… you have feelings for multiple men and you don’t know what to do. And the years have passed. Big is gone, she didn’t have kids because he didn’t want to, while Aidan did - and had a family with another woman he married…and they end up breaking up AGAIN because his kids come first, as they should, and they’re not her kids, so she’s alone again.
