i love the way carrie sings the anthem. she sings it exactly the way its supposed to be sung. she doesn't add in any stupid squeals or accentuate any notes that aren't supposed to be emphasized

You've never done it, clearly - and I have, at a pro basketball game. The most seasoned of singers are nervous...even the great Whiteney H sang over a pre recording - singers aren't singing, they go to their wheelhouse so they don't mess it up...as it is a VERY challenging song to sing...but judge away I'm sure you're better than all of them.

Ch33s3r, I completely agree with you. I am Canadian and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE your national anthem. It is so beautiful. It's supposed to be sung simple and beautifully, and I don't think artists should pull all these fancy notes and stuff in it... but yeah I agree Carrie did a fantastic job! she's so talented.

It's really quite simple. I've watched alot of National Anthem performances. I like to hear how different artists sing it. They're all good to some degree or another but in my opinion Carrie's is the best. She doesnt change anything, she doesnt play with the tempo or extend notes that dont need to be. She just sings the song as written, and with her voice, it's an epic experience, especially if you're one of the people lucky enough to see it live.

It means that she sang with not background music or instruments!! JUST HER VOICE!! Which is really hard to do, usually the background music helps you out-it gives you the music to sing to... but with no music is way hard!! So that's what makes this performance INCREDIBLE!!
