Couple of questions. How did you insulate that cavity in the wall? And, how efficient is the heat pump when the temp outside is 0°F?
@TheHomeImprovementChannel3 жыл бұрын
We haven't experienced 0 degree temps for many years. So I don't know. I think this unit is 18 seer so it should do pretty good, but 0? It's hard to say. The wall was insulated with fiberglass bat insulation..

You forgot to mention how important it is to use a torque wrench on your flare fittings
@TheHomeImprovementChannel6 жыл бұрын
Yes, good point. Thanks... :-)

The importance of tightening fasteners with a torque wrench has been stressed for all my 5 decades as a technician. With the exception of head bolts on an engine and lug nuts on larger trucks...I never use a torque wrench on anything. But to each there own.

I have a 3 car garage man cave of 660sq ft with 8 ceiling ft high. Its fully insulated even the garage doors too. I live in Clovis California in zone 9b I think. I been looking at the DuctlessAire 12000-BTU 230-Volt 22 SEER 600-sq Smart Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner and Heater with 25-ft Installation Kit for $1052 My garage is fully insulated even the garage doors. WIll this work even though it says only for 600sq ft? Or should I get the 18000-BTU 230-Volt 21 SEER 900-sq Smart Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner and Heater with 25-ft Installation Kit? This one is for 900sq ft but I was reading that if I get an overzsize minisplit it won't work that good?? This one is $1500. Thank u

HI. Of course you can try the smaller one, but if it's not sufficient for your situation, then you have a $1000 unit that's not exactly what you need. If it was me I'd get the 1.5 Ton or the 18000 BTU unit.

How has the Carrier mini split performed over the last few years?
@TheHomeImprovementChannel3 жыл бұрын
This wasn't installed for me, but I have not heard anything back from the guy where we installed that. I Also installed a similar unit called a Senville that you can get on Amazon, and it looks just like a carrier. It's been working great too.

I just finished installing that same 1.5 Mini Split Heat Pump with the same Air Handler. I got a question about the Direct button on the remote. Right now I’m in heat Mode and the Direct function doesn’t work all the time to adjust the louvre. Is this normal?
@TheHomeImprovementChannel6 жыл бұрын
I don't have access to one of these units at the moment to test, but I found this excerpt in the manual.. maybe this will help... The up−down airflow louver can be adjusted by pressing DIRECT on the remote control and can be set to be stationary or moving continuously pressing SWING. The up−down louver position is stored in the settings, however it is deactivated when the TURBO or MANUAL settings are set, or when a power interruption takes place. Air Direction Press DIRECT repeatedly to choose one of the up−down louver positions. Every time this button is pushed, the specific louver swings by 6 degrees. In the COOLING, DRY, and FAN ONLY modes, the louver swings in the cooling range. In the HEATING mode, the louver swings in the heating range. NOTE: Always use the remote control to adjust the up−down louver position, otherwise abnormal operation may occur. If the up−down louver is manually adjusted out of its range, power the unit off and then back on again.
