@Pyrroful the lowest string is A# in a low octave next is 'a' in a octave higher an so on the "A#" is separated from the structure of the tuning of the rest seen as ksherwood likes fucked up tuning if u follow that tuning its fine just make sure 'A#' is lower than 'a'

My friend has a 5 string bass, and I compared my Schecter Omen 8 to it, and I think that a 5 string bass pickup would fit, but as the other guy mentioned, I don't understand why you would want to do it, but whatever floats your boat

I've noticed that the way you play this on 8 string is similar to the way I taught myself on 6 string. For 6 strings, the majority of it is the same, I simply downtuned to Drop G# (using a set of DR Strings .13-.65) and went from there. In terms of 8 strings though, I'm looking to invest in one and was wondering if you would be able to tell me which about a certain idea I've had. If I was putting a Bass Humbucker on, would I need a 4, 5 or 6 string bass pickup?

5 or 6, depends on width, probably a 6. Don't know why you would though? Would sound strange and the output would need to be considered

Wat he said :P ye u can tune a six sting an octave higher but to the same tuning just without to high sting (high e and b) even an 8 sting struggles to cope with the low a# octave in it, if u really wanna copy the doing KS gets out of the original use an 10 sting like he did :P
