Carroll O'Connor was a unique talent, and so was Jean Stapleton. There will never be any others like them.

Carroll O'Connor was such a refined and so intelligent when he spoke. It's almost like he was two men wrapped in one. He could morph into Archie. What a talent he could make you laugh and then he could tug at your heart strings and make you cry. He also I think died with a broken heart losing his son hugh to drugs. Rest in peace Mr. O'Connor never be another.

As Caroll OConnor focused on his celebrity status and image, he neglected his young son who finally committed suicide. Caroll blames a drug dealer but if Carroll had been a good father (present, talkative to his son, supportive, and loving) his son would have never used drugs. tisk tisk caroll. Many big name stars focus on their careers at the expense of their children. its called emotional neglect.

@@riverit2880 I believe the dealer, albeit scuzzy, did make a valid point about O'Connor, and I think O'Connor's crusade was more about his own vanity than anything else. But did it ever work!
