I worked with children in the foster system and i realized that individualized care also means understanding for some people change is facilitated by a shorter stick or a longer one or a different carrot or a taste of a carrot because how can someone aim for something “Good” they have not tasted it before and perhaps it is highly foreign or even something with which they have a negative association?
@Luredreier Жыл бұрын
We don't really use sticks here in Norway. Neither for prisoners nor for children. Indeed you can lose custody if you slap the bum of a child or punish them. There's other techniques that's promoted by our government.

with the privatization of incarceration the stick is profitable. case closed. guilty wins* *corporate ownership of prison corp only. please check balance sheet for company definition of win.

Prisons should be federal. The whole idea of privatising such an important part of what a government is, is a complete capitalist perversion

Each situation is different; the carrot works for some while the stick works for others. Some people cannot be rehabilitated.

The stick never really help is our experience. Even if someone come out of a prison system and don't reoffend after a prison sentence using a stick they're still not the kind of people you want in your society. Only carrots does that. As for the idea that some can't be rehabilitated, of course not, if you give up on them... Yet we're still going to try with a mass murderer in my country that killed 78 people. If we succeed he *will* be released.
@Luredreier Жыл бұрын
@@pat77patIt might not be. But that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be. We *do* use rehabilitation for everyone in my country, and it works 80% of the time.

@PEACE AND LOVE assuming that you’re 90 percent claim is true, that’s MORE of a reason to legalize it, as we could put age restrictions on it like we do with alcohol and tobacco. Also, I have yet to hear an explanation of how dealing illegal drugs is any more harmful than selling alcohol or tobacco, both of which are completely legal.
