My all-time favourite actor !. We saw him at the Windmill Theatre in Great Yarmouth in the early 70's when I was 9/10 and a snobby, old-bag complained to my mum that I was laughing too loud and too much - my mum, who was always the perfect lady, told this woman to shut-up and suggested she try cracking her face into a smile !. Sid was superb that night, absolutely brilliant !

The wonderful actor/comedian Dick Shawn had a similar ending. He was onstage and had just told a joke about dying and was lying on the stage floor as laughter filled the theatre... and then someone finally realized that he wasn't ok. To a lot of us in 'the business', that may be a perfect farewell. Not sure how these gents felt about it. Rest in peace, Sid and Dick... Bon voyage 💫

Valerie never tried to stop him gambling..I've witnessed this rose glasses bs on my own mother and dead father, she says so much bs of how they were together. To ease their own guilt. She didn't try to stop him? She had his salary paid into a account only she could access and she gave Sid a allowance per week of which when it was gone it was gone which led to Sid taking roles only if they would pay half and half. Half thru the books and the other in pocket..this is known fact, and proven time again. She was legendary towards his gambling.

6:40 - It seems that Hancock had a really problem with jealously, he got rid of Sid and he got rid of Kenneth Williams when he became the star of the show. Hancock for all his talent just didn't seem to have "Star" power. He made more TV stars that any other writer other than maybe The Frost report.
