Doc Hudson wasn’t supposed to be dead but his VA Paul Newman died in 2008 so they had to take him out. In the third movie he comes in the form of memories.

I love how the franchise went from a wholesome race car story to a international spy mission impossible type beat, and than back to wholesome racing. I think this movie is way too overhated.

Cars 1 & Cars 3 touched my heart, But Cars 2 has a great creativity about how they show travelling around the world for races. I enjoyed it but it has no perfect storyline like Cars 1 & Cars 3.

Creativity wise, Cars 2 is best but by emotions, Cars 1 and Cars 3 are better, Cars 2 can never be the best because the whole movie revolves around Mater and the spies, McQueen who is the main lead was an absolute joke, Cars 1&3 are by far the best overall, they both seemed like a perfect sequel, Cars 3 was motivating till the end, not so much action-packed drama like Cars 2.

holly is a fictional sportscar based on a few different ones. from the wiki: "the 2008 MT-R Mark II, Holley's model, is a fictional sports car inspired after various sports cars. Funny you guys said that the beginning could be McQueen watching a spy movie. That's actually how this film came about. Originally in the first movie where McQueen helps the town before leaving was supposed to go on a movie date night with sally and watch a spy film called Finn McMissile. It was scrapped and reused for this film. Also the Corvette is 4 time champ and 3rd all time Nascar driver Jeff Gordon, my favorite driver. The black car beside him at the party is 7 time F1 champ Lewis Hamilton.

People disliked this movie because Maters sub-par intelligence and dim-wittedness is hard to enjoy outside of short bursts...forming the whole movie around him while also forcing the coolest aspect of the movie...the grand prix...into a meaningless role rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way...they wanted to see McQueen compete at an international level. The secret agent plot just didn't work for a lot of fans...and forcing Mater into that role as well as sidelining almost every other character like Sally to almost under a minute of screen time was unacceptable to alot of Cars fans

I don't know about "a lot." I still don't get why so many people dislike it even with your explanation. A lot of kids like spies, so of course, a lot of kids liked it. It's my favorite of the series. In my opinion the Grand prix made this movie better. I don't get why the fans are upset.

@user-ci1kq2dj4t when I say fans, I mean more then just children. "Cars" was about McQueen...not Mater...in some peoples opinion, Mater exists PURELY for children. His dumbness attracts a few laughs from young children who think farting is peak comedy...if the movie was just about McQueen and the Gramd Prix, I believe It would be more widely accepted due to continuing the main characters story as opposed to wasting am entire movie on a side character who is merely weak comic relief.

Cars 3 should have been Cars 2 though because McQueen trains to compete with an American car racer in America. But in Cars 2, McQueen competes with international car racers and travel across the world for races, which seems like a sequel of Cars 3.

13:40 Whats crazy is that before this movie came out they were actually planning on letting the orange car actually dying from the camera thing, and they didn’t want to do it to the other cars because they didn’t want to get in trouble with the actual countries so they made a made up country for the orange one and wanted to kill him in the movie but then they ultimately dropped those plans for whatever reason

Well guys now you got into these car movies, after the third one of this trilogy, I would recommend watching Rush: not an animation but a film based on the true story and events of the 70's of F1 races!! I'm pretty curious to see your reaction to that film I like 👌 I will not make any spoilers, just try it😉 And if someone agrees with me like this comment so they will see it

I think it was a sick movie no doubt but in my oppinion we now miss real racing in the franchise the first movie had 2 real races. The second one had 2 interupted races and 3rd had 1.5 race for mcqueen since cruz took over

Honestly if they called this the Mater movie it prolly wouldn’t have been as poorly received on release. The Cars name has become so attached to Lightning and he’s a B plot in this one and this movie is such an aggressive tone and even genre shift. It has flaws but its just off the walls in such a fun way. This movie is such a guilty pleasure for me like Spider-Man 3 & Jurassic Park 3. I prefer 1 & 3 for Lightnings main character arc but I do kinda like they focus on his relationship with Mater in a negative way which is interesting.

Actually the ending of Cars 3 was perfect, completely motivating, it would give a sequel for Cars 4, If McQueen won the match, then it would have been a normal win for McQueen which he already achieved in Cars 1 and 2, May be if Cars 4 releases, McQueen would be a trainer and role model for many racers and Cruise would be the main lead role which is quite interesting, if they show McQueen as the main lead again and again, People will lose their interest, so it's better to change the main lead in order to attract wider audiences and it gives a new theme to the movie "Cars".
