Rewatching this for like the 3rd time now I can't stress enough how special this movie is to me. I was born in 2006, when Cars came out, and I was obsessed with Cars. At one point, my mom says I made her watch it with me every day. It's like how I am with Persona 5 now. When Cars 2 came out, I remember going to see it with my parents, and I was slack-jawed the entire time. It was so much cooler than I expected it to be, and I had the imagination of a five year old with undiagnosed and unmedicated ADHD. I can still remember watching the opening chase scene in the theatre, the orange and red glow of the explosions illuminating the theatre and blowing my puny brain to bits. Peak cinema.

This is my favorite of the trilogy. Is it a particularly well written movie? Not really, but it is by far the most entertaining. I just love how absurd it is and it is so unintentionally hilarious. Wasabi ice cream has become a inside joke between me and my brother

I have a love-hate relationship with Cars 2. It's my guilty pleasure despite the flaws and I like the spy characters, the soundtrack, the lighting for the scenes in Japan, and the action scenes. 2 also brings up bits of worldbuilding like disability and how cars use items or technology. I saw 2 before I saw 1 but I haven't seen 3 and I'm more likely to replay 2 rather than 1 because it's more interesting and less likely to lose track in. If the title was basically "Mater's Tall Tales the Movie" and not "this is the sequel to cars but not about racing or being a car or lightning mcqueen" it wouldn't have made and destroyed everyone's expectations.

Ok the Lego Movie 2 is not as good as the first one but it is still a good movie. It does not belong in the same league as Megamind 2
