@sonicfan91444 жыл бұрын
@@TessyBluez Alright, here it is: Why The Cars Video Games Are The Best Movie-Game Tie-Ins Ever Made Doesn’t it just feel like a really good movie is often ruined when a video game adaptation of the movie is made. Yeah, bad times. Throughout the field of movie-based video games, a lot of them are black sheep. But, not all movie-based games are bad, some of them are white sheep. And there are 3 specific white sheep in the field that shall be discussed. Cars: The Video Game (2006), along with Cars: Mater-National Championship (2007) and Cars Race-O-Rama (2009), are the best movie based video games ever made. Each game has its own unique aspects that fit in with the Cars universe incredibly well. So it’s time to cover what makes these games so special. Cars: The Video Game, Cars: Mater-National Championship, and Cars: Race-O-Rama are masterpieces of movie-based video game history for each of them having their own unique aspects that make them so good, and they have entertainment that can last for several hours. Cars: The Video Game was released in 2006 just 3 days before the Cars movie (2006), and it was released on the Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC, and Sony PlayStation Portable. The plot of the game is the next Piston Cup racing season is started, and now that Strip Weathers (AKA The King) is retired, it is now just Lightning McQueen Vs. Chick Hicks for the Piston Cup. So, since the season is starting, Lightning must train in several races and competitions to win the Piston Cup. How the story works is that there are 5 chapters, and in each chapter, you have to win a certain amount of competitions, and then you can end the chapter with a Piston Cup race. What makes this game so good is that it puts the player into the world of Cars perfectly. The player can do Piston Cup races, give McQueen pit stops in the middle of Piston Cup races, go Tractor Tipping, do a drive with Sally like in the movie, catch delinquent speeders as Sheriff, all of that. Unlike some modern games like Fortnite (2017), THQ actually cared about satisfying Cars fans with a good Cars game. They could’ve easily rushed this game a lot and been lazy about it. This game could’ve failed like many other movie-game tie-ins, but no, this game actually had a lot of effort put into it. Albeit this game may have been slightly rushed because it has a lot of glitches, and the only Delinquent Road Hazard that is playable in races is Wingo (but all of the Delinquent Road Hazards are playable in the PlayStation Portable version of the game). What makes this game feel so breathtaking is the fact that Radiator Springs, Ornament Valley, and Tailfin Pass can all be explored freely, and a lot of the minigames are very creative. For example, there is a minigame called, “Luigi To The Rescue,” where the player plays as Luigi, and they must drive around Radiator Springs and reclaim all of the tires that have been scattered around the map. Once all of the tires have been reclaimed, the player must get back to Casa Della Tires, and they must do all of this within a time limit. What makes this game so creative is the fact that the point of the minigame is to find tires. Yes, tires, something that actually relates to cars. That is what makes the concept of this minigame so creative. Now sure, this would be no different than a shoe store owner going around town to find missing shoes, but I mean this is a Cars game, so I think for a Cars game, it is pretty innovative. Also, throughout the entirety of the first Cars movie, McQueen wanted to become the first rookie to win the Piston Cup, and in the final race, he gave up the Piston Cup to help The King finish the race, so he didn’t actually win, although that ending that we got was still a really good ending. However, McQueen’s dream of winning the Piston Cup is finally fulfilled in the video game, as he ends up winning the Piston Cup in the end, and the game actually ends with McQueen, Mater, and Sally going on a drive, and Sally asks where McQueen’s trophy is, and McQueen just tells her that it is in a good place, and then it is revealed that McQueen’s trophy is on the windowsill of Doc’s office, with the game’s menu theme playing. Like, doesn’t that feel so satisfying, how you’ve worked your way from the bottom to the top with your favorite race car, doing all sorts of fun minigames and races, and you’ve gone against many good foes, and it has all paid off, as you have finally won the Piston Cup, man this game is so open. Probably one of the most open games I have ever played. And I haven’t even started on the voicing in this game. All of the characters from the movie, Lightning, Mater, Sally, Doc, Mack, Sheriff, all of their voices from the movie reprise their roles in this game. Yeah, even Owen Wilson voices McQueen in this game. I can barely recall another movie-based game where every single voice actor from the movie reprises their role in the game. Lego The Incredibles, no. Toy Story Mania, no. The Shrek 2 game, no. The Incredibles: Rise of The Underminer, the Madagascar game, the Monsters Inc game, no no no no no. All of the voice actors from the Cars movie, like Owen Wilson, Larry The Cable Guy, Michael Keaton, Tony Shalhoub, and Paul Dooley all reprise their roles in the game as the character they voiced in the movie, which makes the Cars video game feel like a Cars movie. I am even going to go as far to say this, the Cars video game is a better sequel to the first Cars movie than Cars 2. Finally, speaking of Cars 2, unlike Cars 2, the Cars game respects the rules of the first movie, like how Chick won the Piston Cup at the end of the movie, because Darrell Cartrip says, “Last season’s Piston Cup saw perennial loser Chick finally take first place”, and he was referring to how he won the tiebreaker race at the end of the movie, which is a great callback, and Sheriff says, “Wasn’t too long ago I recall catching a certain race car who tore through my town”, referring to when Lightning entered Radiator Springs for the very first time, and he destroyed the road. The spy movie idea in Cars 2 absolutely came out of nowhere, so Cars 2 had nothing to do with the first Cars movie, so anybody wanting to watch the Cars trilogy in order could skip Cars 2, and they wouldn’t be confused about anything at all happening in Cars 3. The only thing in Cars 2 that had to do with the first movie was around 10 minutes into the movie when Lightning was talking about Doc’s demise with Mater, and how the Piston Cup was renamed after Doc Hudson. Other than that, Cars 2 barely feels canon, while the Cars game feels like the actual sequel to Cars. Finally, most of the music in the game is licensed music, and not music that THQ created, so THQ mostly picked a bunch of copyrighted songs, got rights to put them in the game, and put them into the game. But, the music that was chosen actually fits with the events in the game. For example, What I Want by Autopilot Off is a perfect song to use in Piston Cup races, and same with Night Drive by The All-American Rejects. Kickin’ Up Dust and Rooster Tails are great for road races. You see, I love how THQ picked some really great music that fits with whatever you are doing in the game, because it makes the overall feel better. P.S. I included my thoughts on Mater-National and Race-O-Rama, but for some reason, it won't let me add that part.

The other way was was discovered as part of a shortcut. Same thing for finding the ones near the waterfall in Tailfin Pass.

In 2017? This game doesn't require a lot of oomph to play, so an inexpensive computer a few years old should be able to play this game no problem.

You can use a game controller with a computer, you don't have to use just your keyboard and mouse. Most controllers can be configured to work with a computer, and it's easier to do so with (USB) Xbox controllers, I believe.
