There's a lot of negative reviews here. Firstly, respect to Carsales for keeping the video up and responding to the critical comments which is good to see from a massive company. The video isn't great but it also isn't the worst. It's obviously just a short intro to this new car so can't expect it to be too comprehensive. The part that was a letdown for me was when he was talking about the steering and how he mentioned he was unsure if he had turned on/off the buttons etc. this shows a lack of respect toward the car brand and comes across as a somewhat half assed job. Many viewers such as myself would love to be in his position getting paid to make car reviews. On that note, let me know if you're currently looking at hiring.

Car reviewers are so frustrating. They think comfort is a bad word. Can we have non-Luddites reviewing new EVs please, as these cars are all about the tech. I want to know things like the size of the boot, whether there is a shade for the obligatory glass roof. If I watch another review that whinges about physical buttons or generally lack thereof I will scream. Have some individuality please. Some people, myself included would never buy a Tesla unless the company parted ways with the misogynist bully who delights in sacking staff. Watching EV reviews praising a car that farts, and doesn’t have a speedo in the drivers vision, nor does it have Apple CarPlay, yet it’s held up as the gold standard. It’s mind numbing.

Agreed, there needs to be more reviewers focused on comfort and convenience to service everyone who drives daily to work and does decent distances who just want the most comfortable and serene experience. While I enjoy a 'dynamic and engaging vehicle' from time to time, realistically I want to be comfortable most of the time and the same would be said by my entire family, not a soul actually cares about how 'engaging' the steering feels. My partner complains about how heavy my steering wheel is on my hydraulically controlled system is on my older BMW, couldn't care less about how much 'feeling' it has. Increasingly these traditional car reviewers are becoming irrelevant because they aren't comparing the things that really matter to the general public. If they did perhaps they would have a higher following and really influence car buying of the general public and not just 'enthuisiests'.

Maybe the reviewer is entitled to be less than enthusiastic about the car? Maybe he, as many of us do, are entitled to value characteristics like steering feel, dynamics and ergonomics, and there's no reason to be personally slighted if someone calls out a manufacturer on these especially as there are plenty of manufacturers who can get this right. Physical switchgear for common functions is also a matter of safety, and I think you might find that the move away from physical switchgear isn't being driven by customer demand but because it's cheaper for the company to put it all through a touch-screen and because designers wet themselves over minimalism at the moment. It's is better from ergonomics or safety point-of-view just because it's 'tech', Tech isn't synonymous with progress or 'better' . Stop forming parasocial relationships with car-brands or types of cars be they EV's or ICE vehicles. It's pathetic. If the car is sub-par in the driving experience, many people want to know.
