I’m so glad someone pointed out how great his writing is. Dougs writings were the reason I loved Jalopnik. I remember thinking how the KZbin stuff was funny but awkward which was the charm haha, hopefully we’ll see dougs writing come back in some shape either through cars and bids or a new venture.

I was at NYU at this time (though probably working, as it was the summer). Disappointed I missed Doug's hummer terrorizing campus. Funny that he was actually in front of the athletic facility (RIP Coles) while cheering for the lampshades. Lampshades actually would've made more sense than being the "Violets" with a Bobcat as the mascot.

I started watching Doug's videos during the Philly era. I had just moved there recently and it was always funny to be driving around and suddenly recognize a site I had seen in one of his videos. I remember once he filmed in a stadium parking lot in Springfield, and another time I recognized the campus of Bryn Athyn. The Wal-Mart where he filmed Filipo's Spectra was where I bought some of the furniture for my student apartment when I first moved there.
