The Audi RS6 has always been an impressive combination of power, handling dynamics, comfort and practicality. We rated the previous generation very highly and it proved to be impressively quick, even when pitted against lighter, more powerful competition.
We drag and track raced the previous generation RS6 against the Jaguar F-Type V8 AWD, and it really held its own. You can watch those videos here:

And so we were excited to finally get our hands on the latest C8 generation RS6 Avant. Firstly, it's just nice to see a new, modern station wagon on our market. We also new it was sporting the powerful twin-turbo V8 found in other Volkswagen group products such as the Bentley Continental, riding on an all new chassis.
So, is this latest RS6 new and improved? Or just new? We sent Ciro De Siena to a deserted airstrip outside Cape Town to find out.

I agree, it's still puzzles me to this day why would a "top of the range" car have an options/extras list. Shouldn't that be standard? When you buy an M car, AMG, RS etc, the only thing you should be worried about is the depth of your pocket, not that your car may come without certain features, unless if you add to the already huge price tag. And oh, this RS6 is a beast on four expensive wheels 🔥🔥

Never get why car reviewers want the car to be scary and unmanageable. Day to day you have to drive this thing, taming a beast is fun at first but will be super annoying everyday trying to get to work. To be honest most RS6's,M5's and E63's will never see a track and if they do,it is by unprofessional drivers who need all the aid they can get.

The reason these cars (not just Audi, but all the expensive luxury brands) have add-ons amounting to R400k+ is because we are at the end of the ICE age. They are simply bilking it for what they can. Audi, BMW and MB are drowning in debt. The cost curve declines for the internal combustion engine has run it's course and this is the only way to make a profit from it really. These cars are simply not that profitable anymore (not specifically the AMG, M and RS series cars costing R2M+, but the technology specifically). Black interiors are so boring. The car will simply look better with a multi-color interior. Saddle-brown is a good choice with more aluminium trim to lighten it up. Be careful with red leather though.

Problem in South Africa is that car manufacturers thumb suck option lists and pricing. With R2.4 million you can get a Porsche 911 Carrera S/4S. Audi must go jump with that ridiculous price. 👎
