From an owner's perspective. Positives: Great over rougher roads, with comfortable suspension. Feels solid when cornering. Fuel consumption is relatively good. Beautiful design (side profile especially). Great sound system. Suzuki warranty and service plan is great. Responsive infotainment. LOTS of rear legroom. It's almost impossible to get traffic fines with this engine. Negatives: No (turbo) power, which sucks on an incline. Small fuel tank (37l) means you have to really plan a long distance trip well. Boot space = that of a polo. Maroon interior. No auto lock. Safety belt warning noise. Aircon a bit poor in very hot conditions

I test drive a Fronx manual and Automatic. The Automatic was sooo slow. It struggle on a small incline and the manual wasn't that great on an incline either. The Baleno which have the more boot space and weighs 500kg less would do much better I think since it has the same engine.

I did a little research. Apparently the Fronx has an amazing story. In this vehicle Suzuki crossed a frontier in the market segment. Half SUV/Half Coupe. The X represents a crossover. Hence Frontier Crossover or FronX

Excellent car. Got my GLX now 2 weeks and love it. Average 16km/l in city driving with average 19.5km/l on highway driving. Very comfortable and quiet interior. Actually comes with a 4 year service plan included! True value for money.

Thanks Ciro. Ordered a GLX auto. It also does well on bad roads. Led lights, 360 degree camera at this price. I rate Suzuki minimised the price as they know they will sell a lot of these cars. Suzuki does not have auto door lock on pull away. You can lock all doors when ready to drive off. All passengers can exit without having to wait for you to press an annoying button like the one on the Kiger to unlock the doors.

Thanks for that great review! 👍🏻 I'm fine with the name. I like the way the car looks, that rear led joining both the tail lights is a premium touch. I'm an ex VW fan here. I'm glad Suzuki is making waves. Vw reached a point extending beyond snob appeal, so their days topping the sales Charts were definitely numbered. The only thing the Suzuki/Hyundai/Kia brands miss in the South African market is a sunroof option because in SA the so-called city cars or runabouts are our complete personal or family car for long or short drives and we'd like to have a little extra luxury in an affordable car. The Chinese makers are offering this and you see this translating into sales.

This Suzuki Fronx just arrive here in Barbados and is creating serious attention. I just retired from work and shopping for an affordable vehicle. My eyes on the Nissan Kicks, Toyota Yaris Cross, RAIZE and Kia. Seeing this beautiful vehicle I don't want to see the others. Love the name FRONX. But it could be Suzuki COMBO or Suzuki Special

Great review, Ciro! My only gripe with this car is the small fuel tank. 37L vs 48L in the previous Vitara Brezza. You'll do an extra 125km on a road trip in the Brezza which is quite substantial.

This car is honestly amazing for the price. The features is insane. And the LED lights are stunning. It makes everything else feel cheap and overpriced. The Hyundai Venue is awful in comparison and the new Ford Puma is double the price. Loving what Suzuki is doing.

Fronx is Frontier Next..so I was told by Suzuki in George..Had look at one and thinking of trading my Urban Cruiser in..Toyota are bringing there Fronx equivalent out soon..The Magnite and Kiger can't compare to Fronx in every way especially Quality and materials . Excellent warranty and service plan and I think Suzuki are going to clean up with this.Only issue I thought was noisy engine but not a deal breaker

Great review. Though I can tell you that up here at Gauteng altitude this motor struggles to keep up on the highways and freeways. Around town it's fine. Longer trips are going to be painful

Did a trip with 3 adults and luggage to MP and the lack of torque/power was very telling on the freeway and trying to get around the hills of Sabi was excruciating. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Suzuki fan but we deserve the great 1l turbo I've experienced in Oz

We have a Baleno GLX Manual and when the Fronx was released I drove it and must say while the cars are quite similar, they are not the same. The Fronx does feel a little better. Basically, the only reason why my wife and I didn't pull the trigger on trading in the Baleno was the name lol it really really was a deal breaker.

New Urban Cruiser has been out for a few months already. Its a rebadged Suzuki Grand Vitara just a bit more expensive with less of a warrantee and service plan (half to be exact). Also more expensive to insure. Not worth it unless you dont live near a Suzuki dealership. Just get the Suzuki.

Cruising at 120 on 3000 rpm, really not at all bad

The Jimny has extra weight so the 1.5 and 4 speed combo was stressed. In the Fronx however because of the lower curb weight the combination works waay less making it a good long distance cruiser. You can always put it into overdrive if the revs are annoying you at highway speeds, hopefully on a road with a small incline or descend to get a nice cruising experience 😅

Important to note that the Grand Vitara comes with a better service plan while the warrenty is identical. The service plan for the GV is 6 years 90 000km and fronx is 4 years 60 000km. Also, the entry level GV comes with 6 airbags, keyless entry, and keyless start. All features which you will find on the top spec fronx.
