2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Review: Sedan or Spaceship? Why Not Both?

Good job on the review. The pillars are thick, but you get use to them really quickly. I have measured them to my F-350, and the 350 is larger, but only by a hair. I'm 6'9" and I have never hit my head on it, again you get use to it. You are absolutely correct, it isn't perfect, but they are working on it, and the software updates while helpful, sometimes also cause the failure of something else. Kind of frustrating. I got my Air GT because I wanted something unique, unlike the 100's of Teslas you see on the road. Who looks at them anymore...I look right past them. But a Model 3 owner almost had an accident looking at my Air GT. In my section of Texas, I have 1 of only 4 cars, and I have only seen one other on the road. I like that! Very exclusive. The pricing structures you mention are true, but there are deals to be made if you really shop around. I got a really good deal on mine, way less than the price you mention. Service Center is open 24/7, I like that too! Again, really good and fair review!

I have had my Air GT for a year now, never had a mechanical issue of any type. The initial software was buggy, but OTA updates have rolled in on a regular basis now making it pretty darned good. I didn't buy this as a mobile iPad though. Lucid's CEO and engineering team are solid "car guys," with long experience in the game. The ride and handling are, in fact, exceptional. The range makes the Air one of the few EVs that are practical for me to drive from my Texas home to the more interesting roads where the Lucid really shines. Yes, Lucids cost more than some other cars, but are fairly well aligned with other luxury/premium vehicles like the Taycan, e-tron GT, and AMG EQS. The Air GT truly lives up to its _Grand Touring_ name.

Tesla has a bigger HEPA filter than Mercedes EQS and still has a sizeable frunk.

In profile view, the Lucid Air is blemished by the "frunk" and trunk fender cutlines. Not pretty.

😢the Lucid Grand touring is a wonderful EV Sedan. I have heard personally that some of the cars are being stuck in Service, some failing electronics. The Drive is amazing when there isn’t a problem

I like it don’t really like how the design is with the trunk in the back I think one more redesign would do this car just right with a all black package
