We take a full tour of the 13.4" Infotainment system found in the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD trucks. This system should be the same or very similar to that one found in the 2022+ Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. With Google built in, it adds a ton of functionality over the former systems. It also has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Over-the-air updates should help keep most functions up to date and GM has starting rolling out 5G to certain 2024 models. My 2023 chevy silvetado radio was only free for one month , after that if you want the factory nav to work as it should it will cost 20 to 30 dollars plus taxes in Canada. That one issue pisses me off, the salesman failed to mention that important part before I bought the truck ! I guess I shouldn't expect too much from GM on a 90000 truck in Canada!!!

Very informative. I was worried about the buckle to drive as I drive from pile to pile in lumber yards and don't want to buckle up every time I move 12 feet ahead to the next pile. So glad that can be turned off.

I've rented many trucks with all my travels, and the current rental, a new 2024 Sierra 1500 SLT is by far the best truck I've ever driven, and the infotainment system is the best I've ever seen on any vehicle. The google integration is really good as well.

The Audio/Radio system fell short in comparison to my 2013 model. When using the radio and playing ones USB playlist the new system will not upload the playlist onto the music radio from a thumb drive. Also when using the USB outlet for music there is no other one (USB) available from the front seats for other applications.

Help: my 2014 and 2021 GMC truck had the option to go to manage my favorites and type in the name of a radio station (FM & AM) I do not see the "pencil" icon that would take me to the keyboard to type the name of the station so that you can see it on the favorites buttons. Did we lose that option?

I agree. This is insane. Buy a new truck for $70K and the Map and Posted speedlimit display stops working after first month. The bad part those features can come from your phone. We should not need GM data to make that work as that should be able to pull from the phone. I have bought GM since late 70s. I almost bought a Toyota Tundra 1794 this time and wish I did.

Hi, I'm trying to get a turn by turn direction. It says downloading, then it stops and no route downloaded. So I called Onstar, talked to the gentlemen and tried to help me. They said that it has something to do with the app permissions that it should be allowed or enabled. The tech asked me to look for Navigation or turn by turn settings in that page and click allow. The problem was, I can't find that Turn By turn permission or am I missing some steps?

You forgot to mention that if you don't get Google unless you pay for the hotspot. You can use Android Auto but the infotainment system tries to connect to the GM hotspot first, takes about 5 min. to connect to your phone.

unless they have patched it out you can also connect the radio to your phones hotspot to use the radio "normally" you have to do it every time you turn it on though

Can the cameras be set to turn on when moving fwd and the sensors sense an object? I haven't been able to figure that out yet. The seat vibes/beeps but the camera will not turn on. Is it a setting? or do I need to turn on front camera manually each time?

I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 LT. The 2021 allowed to have 2 phones connected concurrently (when you have personal and business phone like I do). Some people say the 2023 has that. Is that true? I just checked the order guide and GM only lists 2 active Bluetooth device connection for the 7" infotainment system on the W/T and Custom trims. I would find it weird if the 13.4" system couldn't connect to two Bluetooth phones simultaneously but it doesn't list it like the smaller screen.

There should be a little arrow on the side to expand it and retract it. I can't remember off the top of my head if there is a toggle to turn it off and on entirely.

At vehicle entry. Press and hold the start button for an extended time(can't remember exactly but around 10secs) it will go into accessory mode.

I don't believe the HUD is impacted by the subscription but the Google Maps (and other features) are enabled only with the subscription after the trial period.

@M. Ortiz Found it. He is right, disconnect both negative battery terminals for a few seconds and bam, it's not in demo mode anymore then you can log in. Dealers should do this at delivery for 90+k trucks.

My 2024 2500 HD Duramax is in the shop again after multiple drive train problems. Is has been there now on this stint for 12 days with a transmission failure at 2200 miles. Failures started at 200 miles. The product and brand is horrible. I purchased an LTZ version (high country quality) and it has been a nightmare. Stay away! I haven't even towed with it yet. Sad!

Chevy Silverado LT 3500 can't change the font size of the display. The entire truck is computerized but the font size is very small for a person with only reading glasses. Very disappointing.
