This is a more upscale, reconfigurable instrument cluster and higher end infotainment system than what’s found in $100,000+ luxury SUV’s like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Lincoln Navigator. Absolutely beautiful set of displays. Great job GM!

I was between the Wagoneer and the suburban. However, it scared me that the wagoneers were sitting in the dealer lot while the suburban are hard to obtain. I liked the wagoneer far more than the suburban. It felt more luxurious and stylish inside. However, just bcuz they weren’t selling as hotcakes, it made me think that the suburban was a better option. My husband’s opinion was, the suburban is tried and tested, go with it. So I purchased the Premier version. I am loving it so far. However, I can’t stop thinking how much I liked the wagoneer.

@@Dejesusluis87 They definitely both have their pros and cons. I tend to agree with your husband as far as known reliability with the Suburbans. Also, if you wanted to trade in for a Wagoneer, I bet your Suburban has held its value surprisingly well since you bought it!

Wow Kyle. That was really worth watching. I'm on my second High Country (21 and now 23). Learned a lot since I sure do miss the book. I'm a 73 y/o granny and finding that the technology is good, it's a little discouraging at times. I came upon the console slidng back leaving a space large enough to set my lunch or purse in it along with a sliding drawer at the bottom. My '21 allowed me to choose to walk way and car would lock and set alarm together--is this the Passive Lock section? If there was anything else I could wish for, it would be to give us an option for the book again, and maybe a close section, a little more help by the staff at the dealer to take time, without so much rushing, to help us set them up completely. Enjoying my ride though!!!
@CarsWithKyle
@CarsWithKyle Жыл бұрын
Hello Rose! I'm super glad that you found some useful stuff in this video! Honestly, props to you for staying up to date with the technology! 👏 That is correct with the Passive Lock; just set that option to either On or On with Horn Chirp & you're set! I hear you with the physical owner's manuals... However, you can always find them out via Chevy's website: www.chevrolet.com/support/vehicle/manuals-guides When I am searching for a particular thing in the manual, I hit "Ctrl + F" and then can type in the bar what you are looking for and it will highlight all the parts in the book with that word. Hope this helps you!!! 😁

@@CarsWithKyle Thanks Kyle, I love that option and really glad it's figured out. Also found out that I have the option to raise/lower the car for easier access to getting in/out of the car. And that there is the choice to move the center console (not sure if it's only on the High Country or not) with a small storage area. My idea for the console moved back is my lunch or purse could fit in it and it won't be rolling around. Just got my laptop back from shop and need to watch more of your YT's.

Terrific video!! My pet peeve with this system is the poor experience to change audio source. If I’m driving and want to switch from radio to Spotify or the like it’s a poor design, so many clicks and the audio source menu is tiny and easy to miss when driving. I wish there was a dedicated hard button. Have you found an easier way to switch sources?
@CarsWithKyle
@CarsWithKyle 2 жыл бұрын
I agree that having to go to the drop down menu first is kind of annoying. I will have to look at the next one we get in, but you might be able to switch sources easier with the steering wheel controls by scrolling over to audio section.

This video is SO helpful! I have watched it multiple times since picking up our '22 Tahoe in mid February. THANK YOU!! Question, since I have a paid wifi subscription I can access the built in Spotify & Google Maps (hooray for saving my phone from constantly being connected). I currently have my phone connected via Bluetooth for calls/texts. I do not have Android Auto on (Galaxy S20+). What I did notice is that I can't use the volume on my phone apps because of the Bluetooth connection to the car (i.e. kid tried to play a game on my phone and couldn't get game sounds). Any idea how to overcome this? My phone paired with my old Terrain for calls/texts and I still had in apps sounds on my phone.
@CarsWithKyle
@CarsWithKyle 2 жыл бұрын
I'm really glad it helped you out!! From what you're describing, I believe you should be able to go to the Audio page and select your Bluetooth device from the source drop down (where you'd switch from FM & XM) and then all the audio from your phone will be played through the speakers. Whether that is music apps or games being played. Hope this works for you! 😃

This was a great video, very useful. Thanks. A question: Since the GMC Yukons and Chevrolet Tahoe's are apparently all GM and very similar, do you know, do both the Z71 and Yukon AT4 now in 2022 come with the digital camera rear view mirror? I am leaning towards the AT4, so that is the one I most wonder about, but I am considering both. At least in the GMC line up in 2021, the Denali did but the AT4 did not. But these are big vehicles, so I am hoping the Z71 and AT4 both have it in 2022. Thanks. Thumbs up to your video!
@CarsWithKyle

Thank you Nate, I really do appreciate that! As far as the Rear Camera Mirror availability goes, it is not available with the Z71 trim. For Chevrolet, you would need to go with either Premier or High Country to get that very useful feature! I honestly do not know if GMC has different availability with this. I would guess it is SLT & Denali though.

Hi! Loved the video. I have a question for anyone that may have found the same problem. I just purchased the 2022 Tahoe RST. The speed limit information is not showing up on the display, just a blank square with lines though it. I read somewhere that the SD memory card needs to be reset to fix this issue. I also have a 21 GMC Acadia SLT that does not have onSTAR or navigation subscription, but the speed limit on the display works fine. I would happy to try to reset the SD card in the Tahoe, but I can’t find where it is at! In my Acadia it is right in the storage area near the cup holders. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thank you, much appreciated! Yes the older systems that had built in navigation operated differently than these with Google maps now. Just looked into it and here is what I found in the 2022 manual: "Speed Sign : Shows sign information, which comes from a roadway database in the onboard navigation system, if equipped. The sign will show “− −” when offline maps are unavailable. See Maps - 169. Page 169: Auto-downloaded Maps Google Maps downloads offline maps automatically for use when not connected to the Internet and for making map data available to vehicle features regardless of connectivity. These offline maps are only available when the vehicle has a subscription data plan. To turn on auto-download: 1. Open Google Maps. 2. Touch Settings. 3. Touch Privacy Center, then select Offline maps. 4. Select Auto-download offline maps. 5. Check the Internet connection and wait for the download to finish. Downloading Offline Maps 1. Open Google Maps. 2. Touch Settings, then Offline maps. 3. Touch the square with the Select your own map icon. 4. Adjust the map to cover the desired area to download. 5. Touch Download." Hope this helps!

Also, do I have to have my phone with me and turned on for the Google map features in the car to work and does it share features back to my phone when I get to it or turn it on. Thank you again!

I dont like my messages/calls or anything to automatically go to the car. I had the 2021 Suburban and I could just plug my phone in with the USB cord and it would just play my music. On my 2022 I am not able to for some reason. Maybe it won't let you anymore because of Google?

Hey, great video for someone who knows nothing about the infotainment system in my new 2022 Tahoe! Have learned that the navigation for the new vehicle is now provided by Google Maps, which is different than my last vehicle (which had a separate navigation system). I'm having a problem signing onto my google account though, to even set up the google maps and the profile. Any suggestions? If I use the sign on for the vehicle, I enter my email and password, and then it sends a code to my phone. Problem is, my phone options comes up on the Infotainment screen, and I can't move it to enter the code. If I go back to maps it wants me to start over. If I use my iPhone to sign in, I scan the square on the infotainment screen on my phone, go to google site on the phone, enter my google password, receive the text with the code, enter the code on my phone, and it gives me a message that I'm now signed in and I can put my phone away. However, the infotainment screen is back to the sign in screen. Help!!

Well that sounds a bit tricky... Maybe try turning off 2-Step verification for the time being on your google account so you wont have to confirm with a number and have it back you out.
