Just hit 120k miles on my 2012 S4. There's indeed some absurd fastener choices. About ready to do this job. Great video. Keep it up!

Audi engineers must have had an in-house competition to see who could come up with the most absurd retention device imaginable.

Nope, you can thank CARB (California Air Resource Board) for this one. The made Audi do this to meet the at the time new CARB rules

@@mydimeisup5103 typical CA BS. They make everything that gets imported the the States worse. Meanwhile they can't keep poop and needles off the sidewalks, but God forbid your car runs a little lean.

2016 SQ5 Prestige, got my PCV replaced a few years back, and now I'm seeing they broke this and knew it couldn't be repaired? And just reassembled? Bc I'm getting codes for the PCV, but no check engine light.

I was watching this and chewing my lips with anxiety. I have to do replace my gasket and I've been debating trying to remove these hoses or not. I think I might try them now.

I have an older Audi and cannot find a needed replacement. I have read it is not wise to replace with anything but these plastic hoses. But being I just cannot find one is there any type of hose I can replace it with that can withstand the vacuum, heat etc? Thanks

I’d like to know what’s the part number for the crank case breather hoses. I accidentally broke the passenger side one in a way that it’s unusable.

Completely different breather hose clips on my New Zealand 2010 Audi s4 b8 - mine you just pinch in on 2 opposing sides and it opens enough to slide off. I did notice on the Audi Manual you showed it seems to only be on the USA versions, could be something to do with the USAs super strict "environmental" laws in an attempt to prevent owners just disconnecting them and venting into the atmosphere to prevent the dreaded carbon build up on the backside of the valves.

Ridiculous, you have to be gentle, yet pull hard at the same time. I broke the clip in one section, but I got lucky since it was still able to lock in with 3 teeth and it stays on.
