Today I'll be showing how to test an ignition switch on the third generation Acura TL. Common symptoms of a failing or failed ignition switch include: no start, vehicle stalls, can't turn or remove the ignition key and issues powering the accessories; such as the radio, power windows and locks, etc.

If you're curious about the wiring:
White / Red wire - Accessories (ACC)
Solid White - Battery
Black / Yellow wire - Ignition 1
Black / Red wire - Ignition 2
Black / White wire - Start
Testing sequence: (Testing for continuity)
(a) Accessories (ACC) - White / Red wire and Solid White wire
(b) On Position (II) - White / Red wire and Solid White (first test)
White / Red wire and Black / yellow wire (second test)
White / Red wire and Black / red wire (third test)
(c) Start (III) - Solid White and Black / Yellow wire (first test)
Solid White and Black / White wire (second test)
If you do not receive continuity after performing any one (or multiple) tests, the ignition switch needs to be replaced.
