I think my TL has been in an accident with the previous owner, it’s a clean title car but I’ve went to get it alligned twice now and it keeps on going out of allignment, the mechanic told me he could get the right front alligned but couldn’t get the left front fully alligned and he said it might be either frame damage or a strut but I have no clue, does anyone have a suggestion?

Good luck on replacing that subframe lot of work ahead for you

I have an '03 TL with a cracked sub frame. Estimate is $3000 to replace it, if they can find the part. Bummer cause it's a great car!

I had same car and in February 23 tranny was gone. I tough to fix but found frame is broken to. Give car to junkyard.

That car is worth more in parts rather than fuxing since they are in high demand. Looks like you have lots of work ahead. A lift would be helpful. 👍

This might be an odd request but can you make a video on how to replace or remove the rear view mirror on a TL?

Where can you get a subframe from?

Sure. Once this subframe is replaced we'll move over to the interior. Looking for trim removal, radio, etc.?

I just did this exact repair on my passenger side axle it was a bit of a pain because the cup on the inner shaft was left and wouldn’t come out without removing the heat shielding from the down pipe. Got the intermediate shaft out hammered the axle shaft remaining cup and popped on the new axle. Intermediate reused
@CarsNToys6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. Glad you were able to reuse the intermediate shaft; they're pricey.

Hi just subscribed to your channel. Anyway did u have to replace the rack and pinion, I mean the steering rack for this acura?
@CarsNToys4 жыл бұрын
I was really worried about the steering rack but no issues. I did drain and install fresh fluid. So far so good. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the subframe. (Shoot me an email - carsntoys@gmail.com) It's not too hard to replace; just labor intensive. I uploaded a bunch of vids on the replacement. kzbin.info/aero/PLl6xt4Pyay3DVTRVH89EwpudeqDk4ivyI

Looking at that filter, that was a lucky incident, could have hurt the motor.

Wow thats awesome, what a deal. I have an 07 TL Type S 6 speed manual and I absolutely love it. That being said, if I were you, I would fix that car up, sell it and pocket the money. If the accident damage has not yet been reported to the state, you can fix everything there yourself, sell it and accident damage wont show on the title. Also as much as I love mine, theres a reason I bought a manual. Besides obviously being more fun to drive, these 3rd gen TLs have notoriously weak automatic transmissions. If the fluid has not been changed every 30k miles with OEM Honda fluid, its not a question of if but when it will fail. Autos also get pretty dismal fuel mileage, especially in the winter. With that low of mileage and the right buyer I bet you could get 8-9 grand for that car. Just my 2 cents.
@SonomaLow126 жыл бұрын
The 07-08 models had a major upgrade as far as the transmission. Not perfect but better! I have an 08 TL type s auto LOVE IT!
@twinturbotim16606 жыл бұрын
The one in this video is a 2006 so that doesnt apply to him. Even the "upgraded" ones were weak transmissions. They fail in multiple different ways. Most guys are lucky to get 100k miles out of them. Good luck.

@@twinturbotim1660 Really! Mine is exactly like the one in this video... has 205 k with original trans and it works perfect.
