Hello! "when I shift to reverse, or any gear" - it means that the camera output is not activated. Normally, if it is activated, even with a camera not connected, when you shift to reverse it should at least display a black screen

It is not necessary to power up this cable in newer head unit software versions as activation goes via CAN. Take + and - from the rear lamp or our cable if the wireless camera works with 6 V.

+Ad Stuurman There is no separate purple wire. There's a separate grey wire (shown at 1.05). Connect it to rear lamps or to the wire where +12V appear when the rear gear is turned on. This concernes the cases when the rear view camera is not activated by CAN. If you mean another wire, please, make the photo.

+Ad Stuurman The dealer should activate the input. As far as the wire is concerned: if the camera activation does not work via CAN (in the latest firmware of this HU it does work via CAN bus) then you need to use the grey wire. Here by activation we mean automatic display of the image from the rear view camera when the rear gear is on.
