Carson's Room Renovation + Erin's Clever Creativity!

Our first month in Florida has gone by so quickly! We've been turning this house into our home and had such a fun time creating a new space for Carson and Finley! Erin also took a quick trip to visit with her grandfather while Chad braved building ideas to life while balancing the girls by himself!

Carpentry is one of my failings as a husband. I really wished that I had learned how to do carpentry in my younger years. I "fix" things, but I can't "create" things out of raw lumber. What Chad does is just incredible. Pure, brilliant ingenuity!

I started watching your family show when I gave birth to my baby in December 2022 and it would help me to stay up during night feedings😍 Finally finished watching the seasons just recently and was so glad to find you had all made your own channels! Its so inspiring to see a Christian family raising their children according the word of God and then seeing this passed onto their children. Beautiful as always! Carson is so talented. Have you considered replacing the artwork over the desk with two or three equal sized pictures Carson draws himself? They'd look amazing in that spot and showcase more of his creativity. You could just take the backs off and swap them out every month based on a theme or something he's presently learning about in school. That would give him an unlimited opportunity to create and showcase his latest ideas and designs with free range of the color palette, and be featured right above his desk! Like his own personal art gallery. His previous designs could be moved into protective sleeves and into an expanding art book to reflect back on over time and for others like distant family and friends to look at and enjoy when they visit. ❤️☺️

I have always thought that Carson was such a sweet little boy. Watching him grow up and seeing his creative and artistic personality develop is really heartwarming. I love all of Chad and Erin's finished projects, they make a great team. Seeing Erin drop everything, in the midst of a big move, to drive 8 hours to spend time with her recently hospitalized Grandpa is just the sweetest thing ever! Her love for her family is just precious. And kudos to Chad for taking care of the girls while she's away. I just adore their entire family. I don’t care if people think my house is pretty… but our fixer upper was bought when we had low credit scores (young), and we had two babies, quickly turned into 4 under 8. We’ve been here 11 years, and no project has been 100% completed. All four kids have been on mattresses on the floor for 10 months while we remodel the 2 kids bedrooms. My husband works highway construction and at least 60+ hours a week. Sundays are full on church, small group and family gatherings. So we have little to no time, and can’t afford to higher someone to do it for us. It’s just what it is for us. I try to make the best of it… we do what we can, as we can. And give the rest to God. But it sure does make it easier to teach my kids to stay humble since we don’t have a choice 😂 thankful God blessed folks like y’all to complete things you hold dear. Happy for you, even when it reminds me how little we have.

Carson’s room turned out so beautifully! It’s a space he can grow up in and it won’t need changes as he gets older. Using the closet as a little nursery is a great idea. If you have any space at the end of the crib, Chad could add little shelves for her clothing or toys to be in baskets.

My brother was an architect and went to Tulane University. Not to far from you in New Orleans. That would be amazing for Carson when he gets ready for college. Keep it in mind. I was offering a suggestion for a great architecture school. The others he got into were MIT, UC Berkeley, Cornell. So in relation to the top architecture schools in the country Tulane is closer to her than the other top tier schools. Carson is extremely intelligent so I was offering a suggestion based on my family's experience and you chose to be rude. My brother also had back problems so could no longer proceed with his dream of becoming an architect so he transferred to Brown University for Pre Med. Then Johns Hopkins for medical school so he found something else that he felt called to do. And this is where reading comments closely is important. I used the past tense when referring to my brother. But in the end all of the chronic pain just ended up being too much, so soon after starting to practice on the pediatric anesthesiology transplant team he chose to take his own life. But thanks for pointing out that you don't think my comment made sense. I was trying to be nice to a family I don't even know. Perhaps you should do the same.
