In the novel, Wells tracks Moss' bloody bootprints across the bridge. Oldschool tracking involves a lot of surveying the terrain for signs of disturbances...footprints, hoof prints, tire tracks, campfires, smoke, manmade disturbances to the grass or soil, leftover items, urine, excrement, odors etc... People leave tons of evidence of their existence and movements without even realizing it... A couple good examples from a few movies come to mind... If you've ever seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, there's a scene where the bounty hunters are closing in on them, and they break off the trail and ride the horses through a creek in order to stop leaving a trail of hoof prints for the trackers to follow. Another movie that comes to mind is Blood Diamond. There's a scene where Danny Archer (DiCaprio), a Rhodesian veteran of the South African border wars, is explaining to Solomon Vandy (Hounsou) how his unit was so in tune to their surrounding environment, they were able to track and defeat his fellow rebel forces by following the smell of their shit...

That’s one way. Another way involves asking questions combined with deductive reasoning, sort of like Sherlock Holmes. This is chiefly useful in built-up areas, where there isn’t a blood trail or other physical clues to follow.

I believe Moss would have killed Anton if the cartel hadn’t found him.

Anton probably would have gotten himself caught (again) or killed by the police, given how reckless he was about murdering anyone who got in his way (Cops, criminals and civilians alike). That is the most likely outcome. He is not the supernatural "force of nature/hand of fate" that he believes himself to be. He is a mortal man like any other. The fact that he gets shot (by Moss) and badly injured in that car wreck at the end proves that much. Eventually his luck, if you can call it that, would have run out if he had stayed on the hunt for Moss.

I feel that IF that chick was a lonely cowgirl he should have go to her room and get that beer, that would likely save his ass as mexicans had already know where he is and his name. But what if that chick was a chicka? Lol she died in the end tho so we will never know if she was working with cartel or not.

@@Kyle__V In that case yeah. I would give the advantage to Moss. Anton grossly underestimated him while Moss probably overestimated Anton. I'd say 60/40 Moss.

@@loganfignewton Im pretty sure this scene takes place before he saw the briefcase but in case I am wrong I’m sure it’s because Carson wanted to stop and kill Chigurh once and for all since Chigurh is basically a boogeyman that will show up when you least expect it

In the book he was planning on returning at night under cover of darkness to retrieve the satchel. When Moss gets it he does the same thing because there are a lot of people watching along the bridge.

Every so often, this movie comes up in some thread somewhere, and I feel compelled to watch the clips again This movie sucks ass and it’s boring as hell and it’s really bad I feel like I’m missing something or just fundamentally misunderstanding the way that people are experiencing this film From my perspective, this movie makes absolutely no sense, the acting is bad, the writing is bad, the pacing is doll, and the ending was so anticlimactic I cannot understand why people enjoy this movie

i get your points, i see your perspective, but i disagree, its an anti-movie just like real life, nothing much goes according to plan. The hero dies randomly in the middle due to random chance, the future never pans out as one has planned. The movie does the exact opposite of what you anticipate, the show down never occurs, just like when you imagine you win the billion dollar jackpot and tell your boss off and shoe away all the exes that return (that never happens). The beauty of this movie is the subtle and not so subtle nuances and the interplay between the side characters and main characters.
