Great informative video! Do you know of the rear seat (where your bottom sits) can be taken out? I'd prefer the backseats to be flat.

The rear seat cushions in the Edge are not removable. The only Ford vehicle that I know of with that option is the EcoSport

I think people are gonna get used to these Rotary Shift Dial in these Ford Cars and many other cars, too

I agree! I wasn't a fan when I first started using the dial shifter but it's really intuitive once you get the hang of it. I think it's great that you can just turn the car off and it will automatically drop you into park if the car is stopped

Thanks so much Francis, glad you loved the video! The Edge doesn't have a hybrid version as of yet but with the push towards cars becoming electric we may see a hybrid or electric Edge or alternative soon

@@CarsWithSteve Edge is being phased out, it's on its very final generation, along with Fusion and other very popular Ford cars/SUVs. Unless you heard something different?

@@codykh Ford still hasn't officially announced that the Edge is being phased out. There were a bunch of cars that have already hit the chopping block in North America - Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Flex... The plant in Oakville is looking like it'll be re-tooled for electrification so either Ford will start building the Mach-E up this way or they're prepping to announce a new 5 seat electric SUV/Crossover in the next year

@@CarsWithSteve I hope they keep the Edge lineup going, it's an SUV that appeals broadly at an affordable price. It's good-looking, too.. True story; When I was getting my Ford Edge appraised at a Honda dealership, a couple came in and was looking for a car, in which the husband pointed at my vehicle outside and said that's what he was looking for (he thought it was a Honda for sale). It was really funny :) It just comes to show that Ford is onto something with the Edge series. The re-design of the interior of the new Ford Edge is a major leap in the right direction. Now, if they could try to keep the base price competitive with budget SUVs and the trim levels at 2k for each step-up.. that's a winner in my book.

Would be an interesting choice for Ford to cut that because it would also mean the Lincoln Nautilus would be on the chopping block Agree with you on the look of the re-design.. it's looking better and better! That's a pretty funny story about the Honda dealership! Haha, should have offered it to him privately

Good question! Ford got rid of the traditional gear shift and have made it into a rotary selector instead. Take a look at 11:01 to see me talk about it

@@CarsWithSteve That stinks, an accident waiting to happen. My 2018 Edge has a real gear shift. When the lease is up next year, I'll get a Chevy Equinox. They kept the gear shift, Bye Ford.

@@rockyrockafella8527 How's it an accident waiting to happen? It's not new technology by any stretch.. so if you really love the Edge I'd recommend taking out a 2020 for a spin a few times. Coming from driving manual transmission vehicles most of my life it's an adjustment to get used to no regular gear shifter but I've found it opens up the console!

As long as it recognizes the lane markings it would work fine.. otherwise it's pretty useless
