I recently bought a platinum edition Escape and I am thoroughly happy with it. Mine in in Star White tri-coat metallic finish which is really nice. This is my third escape since 2013.

Wow, great to hear from someone who has owned so many! Must be kind of neat to see how the car has changed over the years. Good call on the Platinum as well, that 2.0L engine is a blast

These things definitely can haul! Guessing you went with the 2.0L? Hmm.. was it the ST-Line you went for or the Platinum trim?

Great work Steve again! Here are my only beefs/plusea with the Escape Platinum and tech package system after 2 weeks of ownership: 1. Drive Modes: No way to set one of the modes by default. ie: Always need to set it to ECO before driving if you want to conserve gas. 2. No way to turn off Auto Engine/off gas saving on idle by default. Have to press the "A" button each time to turn off to save your starter and battery to prevent engine from turning off at a stop light. 3. No 120V charging outlet in back seat. 4. Price tag is higher in Canada than some of the bigger brands w/ a reduced resale value being a Ford vs Japanese. 5. Rides more like a car (less smooth on crappy NB roads) than most crossover SUVs in it's class. Personally I prefer that but my wife does not. :( 6. Should have vented cooling front seats for its trim. Main pluses: 1. Best interest rate @ 0.99 in CAN when I bought mine for 60 mos. Saves a few thousand $$ 2. Tight, quick, and precise steering. 3. 2.0 T 250HP AWD engine is super peppy! 4. Great handling even when you hit the pedal down, 5. Best safety features in its class 6. Excellent Copilot 360 camera. 7. Auto AI parking is 2nd best to Tesla AI 8. Great interior and seats. 9. Immensely fast heating of steering wheel and seats. 10. Superior and immediate climate control. 10, Great interior ambient lighting Other than that, it is a great vehicle with many more tech features than it's competitors. Looking forward to see it if will be reliable for at least 8 years w/o rust. I had a 2012 KIA Optima that didn''t start to show rust for 10 years.

Good points on both sides of the car. I've always found it weird that you have to keep disabling the auto start/stop feature. Definitely more pluses for owning the Escape which is always a good thing! Hopefully the Escape gives you at least 10 years as well before you start running into issues

I'm happy with my ST Line Elite in spite of what all of the haters say, it's an incredible ride. My brother and his wife both bought 23 models brand new, his has 60,000 miles on it no issues so far with regular maintenance being done not sure about the mileage on hers, but they both love the car and even though I'm still early into ownership I must agree so far.

I don't get people hate on the Escape as well, it's a great ride and the power in the 2.0L is wild! Is it the first time that you've owned a Ford?

@@CarsWithSteve Yes Sir, very first time, your Escape video series have helped a lot with learning the new features, I love the acceleration off the line it feels powerful for being a crossover, I had to get the 2.0L that anemic 3 cylinder made me want to cry just reading about it.

@CarsWithSteve

There are 2 different clusters in the Escape. The lower trims have a smaller 8" digital standard with this available 12.3" digital standard in the higher trims and available as an add on tech/premium package in others

what do you think about the reliability of this car? how many years will it stand intact?
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 9 күн бұрын
Overall reliability in the Escape is great, especially when you look at the 2.0L engine. But it depends on a few factors.. If you're the type of person who takes care of their cars with regular oil changes and maintenance, outside of some factory defect, the car will be very reliable. The number of complaints from owners compared to the number of units sold has dropped quite a bit from when the car went through it's facelift back in 2020. I've seen early 2000's Escapes with 200,000+ km that are still running fine and there are a handful of 2020 models for sale around me with 150,000 km+

Great informative video. I have a 2020 Ford Escape titanium and thinking of trading for a 2024 Escape Platinum. I love my 2020. Should I do it?
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 5 ай бұрын
Thank you! Tough choice.. the new Escape has the upgraded infotainment system and some subtle differences from the 2020 Titanium. If you have the budget for it, the upgrade could be worth it. But if the current one is treating you well, then holding onto it for a bit and saving some extra cash is always a plus

hi Steve! Another great video, I appreciate how thorough you are with your reviews! Could I ask you a question? What is the difference between the 2023 platinum vs 2024 platinum? If I found a 2023 platinum optioned out how I wanted (vapor blue, add the roof, add prem tech package) and it was cheaper bc it’s a last year model year, would I be missing out on anything in the 2024 version? I can’t really find differences beyond the keypad entry (which I like) and 3 year vs 1 year connected nav. Thanks so much for your insights! I’ve watched your videos a zillion times lol!
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 10 ай бұрын
Thanks Susanne! You're pretty much bang on with the differences. If you have a 2023 you're actually in a better spot for the navigation because it's a connected built in navigation with 3 years of service vs the 2024 which is just connected navigation with 1 year. After the 2023 model has its 3 years run out it defaults to a traditional GPS if you don't continue the connected services while the 2024 needs a subscription to keep working or it reverts to a dead moving map with no destination input available after the 1st year

The rotary dial shifter is actually pretty good, especially with it shifting right to park after you turn the car off. I'm really surprised that Ford hasn't opened up ventilated seats to the Escape lineup yet. Hopefully in the next gen
