@circusOFprecision "we don't know why " That doesn't sound very deterministic. "why certain areas of the genome underwent accelerated evolution" I thought she said that the change in those areas was probably faster than others because changes in the other areas would harm the organism? There wasn't any suggestion that the change rate was faster than it should be compared to areas of dna that can change without changing the organism, was there?

@ImMichaelTaylor All I heard was, "we don't know why certain areas of the genome underwent accelerated evolution, but they must have, therefore evolution can explain the acceleration...crickets..."

What this research proves is the forces of awareness that prevail in human being .. i.e. those direct from the physical constituents, the dying/subconscious .. and those input from the external source the living/ consciousness .. have a common ancestor that began the process of bodybuilding eons ago and diverged into speciality bodies. It is not possible to say you are more in Spirit or Soul than any other animal. The only difference between all creatures is physical experience.

@circusOFprecision Either you weren't listening or you don't know what genetic determinism is.

@circusOFprecision "a good explanation is to why we are evolved from a different lineage than our supposed common ancestor" I'm not precisely sure what you mean. Do you think biologists believe chimps are our ancestors? That's impossible, chimps live in the present day.

Amazing. It seems we have just broken the surface into this world of the genome. The white rabbit is leading us onward into a land of wonderous illumination about this thing of life.

How much do our cells differ? How about our RNA? Oh yeah, I forgot. I am listening to a genetic determinist.

@circusOFprecision "determinism" What is it you think that means? What time in the video does she say something which you feel makes her seem like a determinist? Or is it just that someone told you that would be insulting for a biologist / heathen, so you repeat it whenever the opportunity presents? Why not just be honest about your beliefs, (youhate science; you think it usurps the rightful place of god's magic powers.) and leave science to people willing and able to understand it.

@ImMichaelTaylor It is determinism, and it doesn't work, hence "we don't know why". Next. If there is a good explanation is to why we are evolved from a different lineage than our supposed common ancestor, I'm all for it. All I hear are what ifs and assumptions here, typical Neo-Darwin speak. I'd like to know how they are so sure that chimps and humans didn't "evolve" from completely different lineages. Oh wait, she is a genetic determinist. Next.

@circusOFprecision Oh, you're one of those. "I'd like to know how they are so sure " Then you should have found out for yourself instead of just repeating what your cult leader said.
