I can see why so many people got butthurt that Mike did an interview with a drug smuggler. Most his interviews are with guys like this. No disrespect, but even the criminals need to be interviewed.

Mike this is so cool to hear. My dad did this same thing back in the day when I was little. It’s awesome to hear the stories and learn the ttp’s on what they did. Like you said, discretion is key and it is lost in the state of technology we have these days.

I do on occasion. They simply carry sooooo much better. Then a typical semi auto.. but hard to ignore the capacity for size and reload ability.

This was a great interview. I loved all the talk about mentoring youth. It's almost like we need to find a way to reverse engineer the Hunger Games. Our kids are "starving" in so many ways. And so are the adults that "feed" them.

On the topic of schooling as a 30 year old that did gradutate high school, I can honestly say I was never taught how to be successful in life after school was done with. Most things were about getting ready for college and if you werent going to college it was just learning how to find a job, not even how to interview. TLDR my point is There is far more to life than just work and college. Yeah I learned things that I use in my everyday life but I believe schools should add a way to truely show and teach children/teens what life is going to be like and how to navigate the trial and tribulations that life will surely hand you. We need to set the next generation up for success not for failure.

The lowering of standards in law enforcement started in the 1970s. I was hired in 1977 in California under a superior court order that for every white male hired the department must hire two nonwhite males( women or minority). The physical standards at the same time were lowered like pull-ups because a certain part of the human race doesn’t have the upper body strength of the other half of humans biologically. And I was told this by the administrators at my department. After 30 years of the job I retired in 2007. The answer to permenantly lowering the crime rate is a social issue. Law enforcement will never stop or solve the drug problem but just sticking a finger in the dam. The culture of certain groups with a 75% fatherless community and another with a 50% fatherless group to mentor these children this issue will continue to grow. Society needs to find ways to change this idea that the government will give you more money the more fatherless children you have and all the shiny things you want are available in the drug world. But the political leaders don’t have the will for tough love and personal accountability. Not enough churches private counselor programs and volunteers boys clubs exist to solve this problem. Mike you know very well coming from a two parent nuclear home how lucky and how necessary your father was to your positive growth into a productive adult. And you know how different you or I would be without that guidance and direction no matter how difficult and time consuming it was not only for you but your dad. The bottom line is personal accountability. Until that is accomplished the trajectory is for more of the same.

I'm excited to get into this one! That intro reel hit hard with the spinning wheel quote he dropped. I'm going to apply that to my life. Try and let my actions try to help control the wheel. Otherwise it rolls it's course regardless of where progress happens to be in regard to said course. You can apply that to so many aspects of life. Not just his policing the flow of narcotics you know? That alone has me juiced for this episode haha

Yes! They've lowered police hiring standards, added hiring bonuses, etc. nationwide to fill the huge vacancies in the profession. Since the blatantly false, unconstitutional (and in some cases illegal) accusations and prosecutions of police officers across the country in the last few years, who would want to do the job? Glad I got out when I did after 30 years.
