Dr. Hicks was so well-written because she seemed so personable. I think she fully realized Carter was angry when he did the evaluation and fully understood that Carter’s judgment was clouded as a result. Glad she gave him another crack at it.

Well done Benton. Able to give praise when the person is NOT around to hear it. End of the day that's what being an asshole is.
@presentfuture75634 жыл бұрын
@@johndoe9450 Haha! Well, a lot of people liked Benton despite the stick up his butt. I wish he had been less of a dick to Carter, but the fact is that the "sweet-faced do-gooder baby doc" softened him up in the end...more than anyone else besides his own son. And he did display a modicum of self awareness on that eval. I'm just happy JC got to hear it.
@metro1214823 жыл бұрын
Benton could only be humble when no one was around to hear it. He could never actually LET Carter know he liked and respected him! Even fans of Benton have to admit that they guy could be a stubborn, selfish jackass at times...at most times...although he did have his moments.
@aavillagomez Жыл бұрын
Notice that Benton is extremely demanding with Carter during training, but during traumas Benton is always supportive, saying things like "you can do this" and "stick with it Carter." It's awesome to watch.

If there was one thing I wish was on KZbin; there's a season 4 episode that just casually tosses in an entire single take shot through the entire ER that lasts from commercial to commercial, like 11 unbroken minutes of bravura camera work and mind blowing staging. Wish I could remember the episode!

Carter was gonna piss himself when he heard Benton's evaluation. Of course Dr. Hicks already knew of Benton's toughness on students and knew that he was tough on Carter because he was the best student he ever had and you probably already know this. So why am I typing this paragraph? Maybe it's because I have no life and I long for shows like ER back.

Where is the video where Carter's grandmother is in the hospital and she meets Benton and tells Carter: "I think our family used to own his family"
@presentfuture75634 жыл бұрын
It's Benton's mom, who has dementia. It's toward the beginning of Season One, where she meets Carter and asks him to come to Thanksgiving. She asks Carter if he "has people" in Tennessee, and when he says yes, she tells Benton she thinks his family owned theirs. With Carter still standing there. Awkwardly.
