I have quite a fondness for CB Royal. It is the tobacco that I give credit to for really showing me how to smoke a pipe.

Half & Half back in the day was 1/2 cigarette tobacco and it stated it on the old cans. Today's packaging only states pipe tobacco. That said I still enjoy Half & Half although I like Carter Hall better. They are both in my daily pipes. Thanks for the review. 💨

Carter Hall is my favorite codger but Half n Half is a close second for me. 1/2 is a little bitie sometimes, not sure if that’s from the casing or what but the flavor makes it worthwhile still

Carter Hall actually was first produced in or around 1958 by RJ Reynolds Co., doesn’t matter it’s a great smoke as is .5x.5 there is no way I could choose one over the other, both are in my stable. Great content!

I like anise, but prefer the light cocoa/nutty flavor of CH. I also sometimes get a chemically taste from Half and Half. Woohoo!

I haven't got anything chemically from HnH, think it could possibly be what comes across as a molasses taste to me?

In my opinion Half & Half is one of the most sickening and pipe killing tobaccos that exist out there, another being the English Condor. Yet every now and then I smoke them in stoves dedicated to them just to hurt myself
