It's really gotta rustle a lot of jimmies that it beat a R8 V10. That and the focus RS literally is a modified econobox. The Type R is a heavy redesign of the civic platform, which starts like 7k more than the focus platform. This doesn't matter though, the times do. Type R was a full 20 seconds faster than the focus; also beating the GTR, all the Golfs, the Porsche 997 GT3 RS, and only beat by two cars from BMW. The audi r8 v10 FSI quattro ran a 7:44 flat around the ring, whereas the civic type R ran a 7:43:80. Not bad for a car with half the horsepower and "wrong wheel drive" And jordan....no. Just...no. The civic type R has a lightened and stiffened chassis, redesigned undercarriage, different welding/manufacturing techniques, and a different suspension set up, on top of all the bolt on goodies like coilovers and engine parts. The focus RS is the same car as the base but with cutaways for an additional diff and a driveline. But go ahead, keep bitching about how much you hate the looks, totally ignoring the fact that it beats the shit out of the more powerful and awd focus RS Also, there's kind of this "thing" about rice...if it works, it isn't rice, even if it looks bad. Not just the best FWD ever, one of the best cars ever. Probably the closest you can get to a 4 wheeled motorcycle, it's light, handles amazing pretty fast. The engine is buttery smooth and loves to rev despite having alot of torque. You can shift early or you can shift bouncing off the revlimiter.

As a Golf R owner, if you lined up all the hot hatches and said pick one for a track it would be this car, no hesitation. Acceleration at junctions, roundabouts etc means the Golf R is more useful but I am under no illussions that the Type R is the daddy of Hot Hatches.

More power and AWD gives the RS an advantage in the wet or situations where you need maximum power at very low speeds (coming off a roundabout for instance). The Type R is much lighter which gives it a huge advantage on track, it can brake later, go round bends with more pace and can probably keep up with the RS once traction isn't an issue. Not a fan of the RS but for its price it is a great bargain and it comes with aftermarker power ups and exhaust which don't invalidate the warranty, wish VW did that.

Fire Blade you haven't watched enough of Alex's videos. The review on the Huracan was one of te best car reviews I've ever seen. It didn't have incredible shots and professional drifts but it was emotional. Alex is like a normal folk, humble and enthusiastic. Not everybody can drive like Chris Harris. Alex would be a great way to contrast personalities. While I love Chris Harris work to bits for his sensitivity, professionalism and sheer enthusiasm, I like Alex for his humility and resemblance with a normal dude who is just in love with cars. It's like putting one of us in there. Plus, of corse, they are both brutally honest in their different opinions. It would be fun to have them side by side discussing on the same cars. It would give us such a broad point of view. But that's just me, feel free to disagree

It only changes the cam profile for the exhaust, and not for the intake (well since it got a turbo for pushing air into the engine)

Jdm fanboy The engine is Dohc, exhaust has it's own cam and valves and thus can have a cam profile that can change the amount of exhaust flow depending on the rpm. The irony of your comment...

JDM Fanboy yeah it's true. It is a variable timing system, which when it hits VTEC, it changes the cam profile for the exhaust valve thus creating different timing (thus the name 'variable timing') for the valves opening and closing.

Whatever it's strong and reliable as fuck. I also have a 1957 Peugeot 403 but that's another story. + My golf is a First hand, pretty rare for a 28 years old car. Well, kinda since it was at my parents. I like it, it's a special serie "Memphis" with a special color, 2 doors and the 1.6L D, yep Diesel, make as much noise as a tractor, but it's almost 400 000km too and still run perfecly fine without any work on the engine it self. Not bad for a "Crap"

But I totally agree with that, I never thought my golf was the ultimate sport car, it's my old reliable simple and fun familly Golf mkII, I think it does about 56Hp, that stupidly underpowered. I'm not to intrested by "Sport" cars tbh. Or classic one maybe, I would to buy a 504 coupé V6. Yeah only 136hp but who cares. I don't think you need to be going 250 km/h to have fun with driving. Direct heavy steering and light weight cars is the best you can do for having fun in driving.

No rwd you have to be careful when you let off the throttle and rear stepping out. All drivetrain behave differently but all move the car forward
