Cartier Tank Must Large WSTA0052 - An Overpriced Quartz Watch?

Yes, it is expensive, but somehow, it still seems like a great buy for me! It all comes down to that incredible design! Elegant, yet somehow very versatile and somehow also highly legible. On the hunt for an older quartz reference right now, this newer one is a bit outside my current price range, but a Tank on a bracelet is as close to grail watch territory for me as anything else really.

As an owner, I can say it indeed is overpriced for what it is. If I compare it to my GS, for example, there is no comparison in finishing, movement etc. But it's so damn cool, wears like a dream, and oozes style. In some ways, most mass-produced watches are overpriced, so I wear mine proudly and glad.

I would pick up a 80’s must de cartier tank with hand winding movement over the modern tank anytime if I live in a cooler drier place.

Amazing watch. And it looks amazing on your wrist. Am planning to get this for my husband. I have the Tank Must Gold plated , which is about 30 years old and it still looks like brand new new and it runs perfectly. I send it in for battery change every 4 years and have only changed the strap once. In my opinion the price is totally worth it. Thanks for the review.

The Tank Must large has the same size and shape as the Tank Louis - unlike the old Tank Must or the Tank Solo. You are buying an icon here and that’s what you pay for. So if you want the Tank and not spend £12000, then this is the one. - It’s a synthetic sapphire cabochon. Cheers

I bought one for my wife as a Christmas gift, got me lots of brownie points - who doesn't like to unwrap a gift and find a Cartier box inside? As for the watch, it's beautiful, looks great on her. Is it over-priced? Maybe. Is it worth it though, on balance yes, you're paying for a classic design, and it delivers.
