I CAN FINALLY USE MY BIO DEGREE FOR SOMETHING LMAO Air is a mixture of molecules, mostly (like ~70%) nitrogen, and only about 20% oxygen (free floating O2 molecules), the other 10% (these are rough numbers I’m too lazy to look it up) being a mixture of CO2, nitrogen and other gasses. In your body, the oxygen molecules are bound to iron molecules that make up the hemoglobin of your blood cells. Bloodbending does not bend the blood, it bends the water in a person's body to make them move against their will. Therefore no airbending could not bloodbend and if they could I don't think it'd have the same effect.

gas embolism, the bends, barotrauma or nitrogen narcosis would all possible to do by affecting the air in a persons body. really cool. air displacement within the body can stop the heart, cause necrosis, joint pain, strokes, embolisms, damage soft tissue and cause drunkeness among other things. i love diving disorders they are so weird.
