@@calecbrayers3739 From the wiki for cuneiform: "The origins of writing appear during the start of the pottery phase of the Neolithic, when clay tokens were used to record specific amounts of livestock or commodities." And then: "The cuneiform script was developed from pictographic proto-writing in the late 4th millennium BC, stemming from the near eastern token system used for accounting" After human populations grow to a certain size and gain a level of development with currency, it becomes necessary to keep records of those things. Ancient Sumerian pictographs and cuneiform, for a long time, couldn't even be used to write sentences and abstract thoughts. It was just used for accounting.

Archeologically speaking, the earliest translatable writing and mathematics were centered on businesses, notably the trading of barely and beer. Technically not capitalism because the royalty/ruling class controlled the means of production, but there's no real State or ruling class in the Great Valley, so kinda capitalism.
@williamridder59563 жыл бұрын
@@ixelhaine Right, they were not using writing to Do Capitalism back when writing was first invented. However, it IS necessary to have a succinct record keeping system (like writing) in order to have the kind of capitalism they're talking about in the episode. While most of the team haven't seen it - Maybe Carina runs Drawfee draw Madoka Witches they've never seen? Based on their description cards from the game/ Wiki / Etc. Like how Charlotte is "The dessert witch, with a tenacious nature. She desires everything and will never give up. Though she is capable of creating infinite amounts of any dessert she desires, she is unable to make the cheese that she loves most. One could easily catch her off-guard with a piece of cheese."
