Fun fact: wort in a plant name implies that's is good or healing for whatever comes before it. So bladderwort would be used to make folk remedies for bladder complaints, lung wort (aka pulmonaria) would be used to treat coughs and other respiratory problems, and so on. Not that they necessarily work, mind you.

Wherever Jacob read the bit about cow vetch really did it a disservice 😢 vetch is in the legume (pea/bean) family and as such, has nitrogen-fixing properties and thus can improve your soil (making it popular with gardeners and farmers as a cover crop). Vetch are climbing plants like peas; it grows wild on my parents' five acres during spring and the way the little tendrils grab onto weeds and ugly grass and whatever else nearby to pull itself up for some reason delights me. They grow seed pods like peas or beans when fertilized, however, these seeds when fresh can be toxic to cows and horses. The plant is high in protein.
