'Swat Kats' is one the the most awesome things Hanna-Barbera ever produced. It's also one of the most underrated cartoons of it's era. It was kinda dark, edgy, and WAY ahead of it's time. Had this been made around the time that Toonami came out, it could've lasted a lot longer than it did. Even more depressing was that The Trembley Brothers tried to revive the show via Kickstarter, and when they pitched it to Cartoon Network, they turned them dow, WTF?! A revival of 'Swat Kats' would've been PERFECT for Adult Swim! It could air along side the 'Samurai Jack' revival that' s suppose to come out soon.

why do people like to throw around big words like "way ahead of it's time" when it's completely untrue. For example batman tas was on a complete different level to this and came out before it. You could easily claim that batman Tas was way ahead of it's time. Also x-men tas is way better than this and the first cartoon to be serialized.

9:16 Feral not realizing that Chance and Jakes Re the SWAT Kats is vaguely understandable, seeing as how Feral probably had very little interaction with Chance and Jake ever, except the few minutes discharging them from the service. Not to mention how long it took to build their jet made him forget about them. As for how no one noticed the jet leaving the scrap yard, it's mention in the last episode that they have a radar jammer from a stealth jet to prevent them from being followed.

I recently got this show on DVD and absolutely loved it. Cartoon Network is in desperate need of an awesome action focused cartoon like Swat Kats. Except for Samurai Jack's last season, I barely even watch CN anymore. I hope the Swat Kats reboot does happen, especially on Netflix.

Swat Kats, Pirates of Dark Water and The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest make a trinity of criminally underrated and underappreciated action cartoons made by Hanna-Barbera which were sadly treated like rubbish.

I wished other of my childhood cartoon favourites from the 90s like Biker Mice From Mars, Space Cats, Creepy Crawlers, Super Dave, Hammerman, The Adventure of Hyperman, Blazing Dragons, Cowboys of Moo Mesa, The Addams Family, Albert the Fifth Muskeeter, Santo Bugito, Iznogoud, Walter Melon,and captain simian and the space monkeys were finally released onto complete DVD at last just like Swat Kats.

I started watching this show when I was in middle school in the early 2010s on weekends when Boomerang was still a channel. Saturdays and Sundays from 2 pm to 3 pm, It has been my all time favorite cartoon show to this day. I bought the DVD set alongside Power Rangers In Space off amazon, and I eagerly await Swat Kats Revolution's release date. Here's hoping Netflix picks up the show and we can finally get this sequel

@@godzillavkk Can guarantee it's because the Trembleys are very much of the mindset of 'Don't fix what ain't broke' and the Networks want them to make drastic changes to their series so as to better fit today's social climate (i.e. - focus more on diversity and representation instead of focusing on the action/storytelling).

Something we may have thought was good in one era, may become something bad as society evolves. And I can tell that you are accustomed to privilege. So equality feels like oppression to you. I think the reboot should be done by HBO or given to the same people that made the Arkham Games.

@@godzillavkk The series was fine as is (plenty diverse, strong female characters, plenty of action and good plots, etc). And you need only look at other revival cartoons of old franchises (He-Man/She-Ra/Thundercats 2020 specifically) to see just how well the more socially acceptable updates are received (they weren't anywhere near as well received as folks would like to think). If people need diversity/representation in their cartoons, they can make their own original cartoon and leave the classics alone.

and that one is way better than this show. That was the first DISTRUBING cartoon to ever be produced and still the most violent action cartoon to date. The cheese and the cliches also aren't really present there as opposed to this series.

I have an idea for a new character: A She Kat that's a college student looking for a part time job & comes across the salvage yard where she meets Chance & Jake & applies for a part time position. But while she's waiting she accidently hears one of them on the phone & discovers their secret. when she then sees them in their flight suits. So she is forced to go with them on one of their missions. Afterward she then asks about a part time position to which T Bone states that she can work part time unless she doesn't give away their secret which she agrees to thus handing her a communicator & soon becomes a SWAT Kat herself, Any thoughts?
