You know, it could be different. Double D has OCD, so since he hung out so much with Ed and Eddy, the two made him so nervous and stressed Double D started to pull his hair out. In his mind, everyone would find him mentally challenged if they found out he did so, so he wore a hat. Double D could've done this as a child due to constant anxiety (based off his OCD). To go off the "shiny" stuff, he could use fake hair (spray on hair, weave, idk something like that) to keep it away from Ed and Eddy so he wouldn't worry them. Now if Double D had long hair, why would he constantly wear a shower cap? When Ed and Eddy saw it, Double D got defensive about his issue, almost like he couldn't cope or come to reality with it. Well, that's my theory..

I made a theory that I thought could be pretty real. Avatar the Last Airbender is actually WW2. When you think about it, the idea is that the fire nation is actually Japan and they're invading China who is represented as the earth kingdom. The earth kingdom capital is Ba Sing Sei which sounds Chinese, correct me if I'm wrong but Chinese words are composed of single syllable sounds, Ba-Sing-Sei. Also, WW2 was a war won by the strength of the Allies' air forces ( I remember hearing this quote from a historian). Another really obvious clue is that the firebenders draw their power from the sun so when the total eclipse happened in the show, the firebenders could not conjure fire. Japan also happens to be the country of the Rising Sun. Coincidence? I think now. Another clue lies on the map of the world in the show. The fire nation is a small curved island off the coast of the earth kingdom. Japan is also an island close to China. The earth kingdom is a large nation with a massive population much like China. I've got a bit more information supporting this like the Gobi Desert being home of the ancient library and such but I'm not sure if that's true or not. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The biggest theory known about this cartoon is that they are all dead kids that are in purgatory. They are all from different time periods and have found themselves all stuck in this place. actually, I played a game on Cartoon network.com and Edd takes off his hat as like a victory dance thing when you win. his head is just like Eddy's. it only has 3 strands of hair. and the rest bolde.

i think edd has cornrows cause in the video game when he takes off his hat his hair looks like cornrows. i also think that edd's hair is not bald cause in the cartoon eddy says that his hair is shining like a thousand suns, i think he just has black shiny hair which is braided into cornrows and he's embarrassed because it's not neat or proper

Maybe the shiny theory and the surgery theory could both be true, maybe he has a metal plate that forms part of his head. metal is shiny. But then his bald head could be shiny too.
