I am surprised I did not see the theory that Dipper and Mabel's parents have a bad marriage (evidence Dipper's extreme paranoia over romantic feelings and Mabel always trying to force happy relationships), and that the actual reason the parents sent the twins to Stan for the summer is that they have decided to finally divorce and do not want the twins suffering through that process with them. To me this is one of he darkest theories because it is so grounded in reality. like there is no fantasy or oh-this-never -happens-in-the-real-world. Not all marriages are happy, and the unhappy ones can be hard on kids as well as parents.

Ok, I just have to say three things about the "Is Bill alive" theory. He is dead guys. Let me just explain. For one, Stan wouldn't have been able to leave gravity falls because now he would be a part of the weirdness meaning the NLOWM (Natural Law Of Weirdness Magnetism) would keep him there. Also, and this is important, Stan regained his memories. the thing is, Bill wasn't a memory. he was a living thing. he was a separate entity housed in Stan's mind. in the moment they were bound together, they both were erased, but the things shown to Stan regain his mind. but Bill was never a memory, he was a second mind. the thing is that means he was unable to return, because the reason Stan came back was thanks to the fact he was still alive and his brain was intact, meaning that he was still alive he just didn't remember himself. Bill on the other hand, was erased. he got wiped away. that killed him, we all agree on that. But Stan survived, just with amnesia. that was cured meaning he was normal. Bill wasn't alive, and even if he did, I think the memory gun would erase his memories to, meaning he would not be a threat, and he likely wouldn't be able to remember a thing. that means he would basically either be dead forever, or be the same as a idiotic voice in your head. Edit: I don't know why I didn't mention the cypher hunt or the backwards message, ect, so nevermind, I was very wrong

Firstly, I love this show so much, it can't be replaced by anything and I made up my mind. Second, I don't believe Bill is in Stan's mind, but I do believe that he saved their lives due to a theory supported by one of the comics. In the show, when Bill realizes he's about to be erased, he chants something that sounds like nothing important. He's actually saying (I'm probably going to get this wrong so no quoting me on this) 'The power of Axolotl save me!' or something of that sense. In the comic I mentioned, Dipper and Mabel run into an all knowing Axolotl. They mention more about Axolotl's in Dipper's guide to the unexplained. So basically, the theory is that Bill changed his form and protected himself, and as he did that he protected Stan's mind too. Which is why Stan was able, in a sense, to also be reborn for the second time in the series. First time would be when he took Ford's identity, second time would be when he regained his memories due to Mabel being persistent that he wasn't gone.

Ah, c'mon. That last thing is hilarious. Every single story(literally every) could be "someone's dream", "someone's imaginarion" or any other thing like that. But that is the worst way to end a story. It's simply killing people's interest in a show. One interesting I noticed is that when bill cipher speaks backwards he talks about an axolotl and talks about returning one day, now if you don’t know there is a comic where part of this is explained, the axolotl is a god of the gravity falls universe or even multiverse and dipper asks the god about bills legacy and how he came to be and the axolotl says that bill had to invoke his name in order to set the dimensions on fire once again, and even more mysterious the god also says “one way to absolve his crime, a different form a different time” not only does this explain what bill meant when he was saying his death message but also supports the theory of bill leaving inside stans mind

There's actually an AU somewhat based on the third theory. It's called Transcendence Falls, and involves Bill taking advantage of his open-ended deal with Dipper to try and posses him again, leading him to die in Dipper's mindscape. This turns Dipper into a demon. It's actually really expansive and very interesting, probably one of my favourite Gravity Falls AUs.

Bill can't be alive because he would inside Stanley and due to the law of "weirdness magnetism" Stanley wouldn't be able to travel the world with ford because bill would be inside him and bill is practically all odd and weird so he wouldn't be able to exit gravity falls. The theory that Dipper's symbol is actually not the pine tree is definitely false. Evidence: In the episode "Dreamscaperers", Bill first refers to Dipper as "Pine tree"

Theory on Dipper's real name. It has been suggested his name is Mason... however, it has been stated by the show's creator that his name rhymes with Mabel's. But, he is embarrassed enough by it that he has people call him Dipper. This likely means his name isn't Gable or Abel. If you look to Adventure Time, there is a possibility his parents could have named him Graybel. Since he was born after Mabel, his name could be Nabel. Then again, he always wanted to be called Tyrone, meaning his name could be Table.

The hole theory about Bill being in Stan's mind is kind of stupid. Think of it that way: If there was a car accident and the person who was driving the car had died, would he come back to life if the car was repaired ? I don't think so. It goes the same for Bill and Stan's mind. Bill is alive but not in Stan's mind. According to the AXOLOTL, which is an entity in the Gravity Falls universe Bill is alive in a different form and a different time.

Ok, number three is so easy to disprove. In the book, Dipper says, and I quote, “Well, for some reason Mabel has made a ton of sock puppets, and they’re creeping me out.” This is on page 90, btw. Had this been after Sock Opera, he would definitely know why Mabel was making the sock puppets. Since it’s before Sock Opera, it’s before possession, and therefore we have no proof that Bill can still possess Dipper. That does beg the question as to how Bill wrote that in the first place, but I don’t really care.

Theory on dipper's wrong symbol would be right if Bill didn't constantly call him pine tree. Bill knows who the symbols were since he calls everyone bu their symbol. Of course there is only a few times he calls them. It is possible that someone was on wrong symbol but Bill confirms him as pine tree

I just realized something. Stan in the opening theme song wears an eyepatch he switches to the other eye. Adding that to the similarities between him and Bill (y’all left out that they both are the only ones who call Ford “sixer” and are the only ones who do the “innie meanie Minnie, you” thing) and it almost seems like the creators are telling us through that that Stan and Bill are somehow connected. Why else show him with one eye?
