Feels like sinners overlooked the loophole with extermination day. They could just unalive themselves before extermination day starts. I've heard it takes at minimum a day to regenerate in hell. So if they are dead and regenerating, then angels can't kill them with their weapons. Regeneration is painful, but it would be a better option than not existing anymore.

I always understood this regeneration as more gruesome, like, it takes a full day to *finish* regeneration, so you could in fact be laying somewhere defenseless, making it easier for an exterminator to find you.

My theory for the seven deadly sins is that if they are hellbons and not fallen angels, then perhaps Lilith made them, as she is considered the mother of demons. After some time, they created other demons, like Beelzebub created hellhounds and Satan created imps. Edit: since we know Lucfier loves lilith he wouldn't want to stop them from working or existing despite not agreeing with what they do.

There's one slight hint towards whether the Ars Goetia are angels or not: Stolas bled black sludge, like other hellborn species, when he got hurt by Stryker. During his song-off against Allastor, Lucifer bit his own mouth when he sang "who just happens to also be your blood" to Charlie. His blood was yellow/gold, more like the exterminators' or Adam's blood.

@CartoonUniverse It's worth noting that when Alastor attacks the Loan Sharks in episode 5, Lucifer tells Charlie that "Sinner*s* are violent psychopaths." While he could easily just be talking about Sinners as a whole, using a plural would imply that Alastor vs Loan Sharks was a Sinner vs Sinner fight. In addition, we see a Loan Shark in episode 4 that, despite being riddled with bullets by Angel Dust and Husk, can still speak just fine and just kind of snarkly complains. He was suffering from way more severe injuries than any of the Loan Sharks that Millie killed in the Exes and Oos episode, yet was still kicking it for at least a while, which is what you'd expect from a Sinner capable of regeneration. Combined with the mentioned red blood instead of black, that would imply they are Sinners. That said, that gives no explanation as to why so many Sinners would take on near identical shark forms, or why the show would establish a *second* group of mafia sharks with a completely different origin. My personal headcanon is that humans who engage with loans and scams take on shark like forms when they become Sinners. Once in Hell they team up with the larger colonies of native born Loan Sharks to act as more expendable/heavy hitting agents for Hell's mafias. That still doesn't explain why ALL the sharks we see in Hazbin bleed red, but it's satisfactory enough for me to explain the riddled with bullets guy without devaluing Helluva's lore. (Kinda like how Crymini is a Sinner but Hellhounds are also a thing.)

I don’t think the blood we saw there was from him bitting his own lip. I think that’s the shows way of showcasing when someone is showing the more darker side to themselves or showcasing a sin. All of the overlords we have seen, when they showcase the much more darker tones of themselves have that appear. We see it in welcome to the show for vox, and Alistor. In position it is VERY present on Valentino pretty much all through the song.

I have a theory on why out of all the characters, why only Sir Pentious went to heaven. Out of all the characters we’ve seen, Pentious is the only sinner in our cast who’s been trying so redeem himself who also doesn’t have a soul contract on him. Charlie can’t be redeemed since she’s a hellborn Vaggie could possibly end up in the angels ranks again, but it’s unclear. Angel has his soul contract with Val Husk has his contract with Alastor Alastor also has a soul contract on him and he also hasn’t made any attempt to redeem himself. Cherri hasn’t made any attempts to redeem herself. Nifty is just Nifty and we’re to assumed she also has a contract with Alastor. Another theory I have is that angel could easily break is contract with Val whenever he wants to, however, Val has conditioned Angel to be with him so Angel would come back to the studio (due to the “poison”) I think Angel would get redeemed if he said “screw you, I’m not going to the studio anymore” and Val legally can’t do anything about it since Val would only have control of Angel in the studio. Another piece of evidence is that Vox literally asked if Angel quit. This implies that angel could just quit at any time.

I immediately thought, well because his soul is owned by Valentino. that would be quite interesting, because it means that Charlie in the second season will have to demolish the socioeconomic sysetm of hell that relies on a few overlords owning many souls.

While the contract part may have something to do with it, the more obvious reason Sir Pentious went to heaven while Angel Dust didn't is because Pentious was killed by Adam. Both have gone through a reformation process but it seems that some sort of self-sacrifice, with permanent death (in the lore of the world), is also required. This also fits with what was established during the meeting in heaven as even humans would need to die before being able to go to heaven.

In the first episode of HH Adam mentions "this virtue chick", so I presumed the Heavens have Seven Heavenly Virtues as counterparts of Hell's Seven Deadly Sins, and considering Sera's birdlike original appearance (and Lucifer having multiple motives of ducks and the Ugly Duckling in particular, he could be a swan-like angel), I presumed seraphim are counterpart of Hell's Goetic demons in the sense them being avian beings as well.

What's interesting to me is that depending on how far Viziepop wants to take inspiration from the myths of Lilith, this could explain why Charlie is her and Lucifer's sole daughter (and relatively recent one too, as she's 'only' 200 years old by the time of the show), when according to Viziepop, Lucifer and Lilith have a very loving relationship which you would expect would produce a fair size of children over 10,000 years. And Viziepop even says Lilith's actually very good with children and likes them, but apparently didn't have any herself until Charlie. In Hazbin lore, Lilith being the first Sinner or human turned Demon would also make her sterile, but there's debate on whether that did apply to Lilith because she didn't appear to actually die, but literally fell into Hell with Lucifer, and whether that would affect her biologically. Even then, if she was originally as sterile as other Sinner demons, it's then a bigger mystery how did she then have Charlie in the last 200 years. What exactly changed?

I like to see Lucifer's morality and how he acts less "sinful" and such as sorta like the morals of a Fae entity. He's kinda Fae-like as a bit of a spritely, trickster style character, so seeing his morality as like a "blue and orange" morality rather than "black and white" feels right to me. Maybe his morals and how he sees "good" or "evil" might overlap with our conventional views of such, but I imagine moreso it's a sort of setup that wouldn't be as clearly understood as 100% good or 100% evil, y'know?

Tbh, from what I know about Dominion Angels and the Ars Goetia they’re pretty similar. Dominion angels govern the movement of stars and many other celestial objects just like Stolas. Maybe the Ars Goetia are fallen dominion angels or hell’s version of them.

Here's what I like about Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, it's pretty cool that in Helluva Boss we see more of the rings, yet for Hazbin Hotel, we see the Pride ring, which is I think, the highest ring? While others are below or under ranked. I like how the shows are connected. (Also I like how they named Sera based on Seraphims! Very nice detail)

When it comes to the 7 Deadly sins being either fallen angels or powerful Hellborns, I keep thinking about that line Asmodeus says to Fizz: "I've known Mammon since the start of Hell..." I think if they were fallen angels, he would have said something akin to: "I've known him since before Hell was even a thing." But I'm not sure.

That was a fantastic deepdive into The Lore, just like the title says. I like the observations of the various demons from the circles. I had completedly missed we caught glimpses of envy and sloth demons. I have a bit of a theory: we dont get much of a mention of God except some fleeting usage of god and christ as interjections, and alastor dressed as a nun for a brief moment. The angels are said to have made man, and maybe implied to be behind all creation. There isnt necessarily a god in the hazbinverse. But if there IS, i see the hazbin hotel, and charlie herself being instruments in God's plan, creaitng a sort of purgatory to ultimately rehabilitate wayward souls. Sir Pentious was put in Heaven but SOMETHING. And i find it funny that Asmodeus himself, the embodiement of lust, has found himself falling in love with fizzarolli. He put aside short term desires in favor a long term meaningful relationship, where he found more fulfilment; he has embraced Love over Lust, the very Essence of God, because even in Hell and even with Demons, The House always wins. Anyways, great video!

Vivziepop is using 7th Deadly Sins with this source of information material. Just like that in her hell you have 7th rings which are one under another and pride ring is on top has 9 cycles 1. Pentagram city, 2.Imp city; ... Lucifer (Fallen Angel of Pride), Satan (Devil of Wrath), Leviathan (Dragon of Envy), Asmodeus (Nephil of Lust), Mammon (Demon of Greed), Belphegor (Demon of Sloth), Beelzebub (Fallen Angel of Gluttony) But they all are mostly not angels too.

I dont know if anyone else really appreciated the definition you gave for mythology and your reasoning for using that term, but I really did. A lot of times people can stop listening after the use of a certain word but sometimes it's just a missed connection to the word. For example, I might use a word in a different way to someone else because of my experiences, that doesn't negate what I'm saying or what the other person is saying. We just need to take a moment and explain why we use the terms we do. Ugh I knew I should have waited to write a comment until later in the video. Well done research! You did a very good job researching this material. I would equate the info in this video to my semester of western religions class.

I definitely think that the overlords and princes were once angels or descendents of angel's. During the shot where we are introduced to seraphim, we can see her face morphs from a shape extremely similar to our owl royals. It morphs from that shape, to a more human one once she greets Charli, so maybe her true form is one similar to them. As stated "they want to adopt the forms of god" which is what humans are meant to resemble.

Mammon is 100000% who alistor sold his soul too. If you pay attention to the details, when alistor makes a deal with Charlie there is green lightning in the other room. And mammon and alistor both have voodoo "runes" and other characters that have known alistor for a long time also have "tattoos" that look like mammons symbol. That cross over will be amazing

tbh with lucifer trying to help the people of his ring, i feel like with the whole "wait why arent the seven deadly sins like super evil why are they chill" problem in hb is because the sins arent inherently evil, like asmodeus and beelzebub, they just wanna make things good for the people of their ring. i feel like with mammon since he has greed as his sin its kinda hard for him to care for his people since, yknow, greed. so he is consumed more by greed and therefore, doesnt care for his people like lucifer, asmodeus, and beelzebub do

One thing I find fascinating is the contradiction between Lucifer and the other six sins. As you said the Sins and the other royals seem to have it as their duty to spread evil, however Lucifer considers the sinners as his punishment, to only observe the evil of humanity not the good as stated in Charlie's storybook; yet at the same time Lucifer is the big boss, somehow either conquering or endearing himself as the ring leader and the other six who appeared as circus acts. The chaos of this alone may have spurned them on. Asmodeus saying he's known Mammon since the start of hell could be angels or it could be their kind are native to that chaos nether space and these individuals were given their jobs as sins when this new Hell for Earth manifested.

Albeit a tiny detail, the "real" transformations of the Deadly Sins and the Ars Goeita are more demonic/diabolical than Lucifer's. Also they dont seem to present any angelic features in them such as wings, eyes, horns, etc.
