I grew up in the valley in california, snow days didn't exist lol. Hell we still had to go to school during huge rain storms and power outages, the school would only close if the plumbing was broken and no where to go to the bathroom.

Its been raining a lot, nothing like I've seen in Oklahoma but the winds here are no joke. Probably will go back to a drought in the summer though knowing this state. And my school was messed up lol, all they cared about is a dollar. They would literally tell you to at least show up even if you were going to leave because of attendance and I'm pretty sure they get money for each kid at school.

Schools don't want you to attend just because of money. I don't remember any of the staff talking about money so I can't say whether it played a part or not with confidence. But when asking about why snow and last days of school varied so much between different schools, it's because schools have legal requirements in order to operate. If no snow days are used up then the school will either use them randomly near the end of winter or go into summer break earlier in the year. They get penalized in some way for using to many snow days and forced to give a certain amount. So whatever the penalty was would determine if it was about money. Another thing to note is state requirements and handling of educational facilities vary.
