Universal 1uz plug and play wiring loom - stock ecu

Instructions about one option of wiring loom which I make. Send me your 1uz engine loom and this is an example of the completed job.
The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. We do plenty without cats but I always run primary oxygen sensors.

Do you ever re shim the valves on the 1UZ ? Many are reporting good power gains by getting the valves back in factory specs.

Hello. Yes I have done quite a few normally as there are a couple of noisey ones. Most are pretty good so only difference is the noise. If they were well out there would be an improvement in performance but not something I see very often. A video is on my list. Cheers

Provided its wired correctly and correctly match parts are fitted all non.vvti looms can be interchanged

Another great vid...One thing I was wondering about is the anti theft. I guess that's only in the gen 2 and newer? They need they factory key and transponder that plug into the ECU? Is the factory shifter needed as well in the Gen 2 and newer?Its amazing how well you know these engines! Great work!

Hello Billy. There are only a few models of Gen2 ECU with security. Easiest fix is a non immo ecu and swap the IGT pins around. The stock shifter is great to use but not strictly necessary. Any Toyota Shifter will have the same lever dimensions. We just modified a J30 Maxima shifter which was fitted to a project to work correctly too. Cheers

@@585Lowrider hello. These days the non immo vvti ecu is pretty hard to find that its much easier to have the immo system removed. The non immo have a different pinout to the others and as an auto require the extra speed signal to the ecu. They generally produce less power too. What model vvti do you have? I can remove the immo. It’s automatic and it’s out of a 92 sc400 I just want a little more power to be able to run it but be a comfortable daily

I would start with making sure all maintenance like sparkplugs etc are up to spec to start with then a set of headers/extractors like I fitted to the soarer video maybe with better exhaust if you can. Then quality air filter. That stuff will give noticable gains but still quite small. Next step is cams and ecu. We have seen 8-10% with just an ecu on n/a engine. Cheers

Would you be able to make me a wire loom for a first generation Isuzu trooper? I’m about to purchase a 1UZE-FE from a 93 Lexus. Swapping it to a Isuzu trooper. There’s a guy here in the states that has done this swap multiple times and shows somewhat how to do the wiring but it’s still not clear to me on a few things. I’d like to buy one already made if possible. I would need the AC as well as I’m located in Arizona.

I make looms to order and everything is custom. I normally ask for the stock UZ loom and the vehicles engine harness. As the trooper configuration is very different to most doing it remotely is quite tricky. I prefer doing Isuzu with the vehicle in my workshop however I can still make some options to suit. Generally I find its not worth repairing cut looms. I have a few spare looms as seen hanging around the workshop. Ive got plans for brand new looms based on gen 2 ecu later this year. Also is an aftermarket ecu an option if running manual? Cheers Kelvin.

I may need too send you an email with a list of parts I can't find here in the states, and have you send me a price for the lot of parts I need. I have a pair of ma70 supras one is getting the 1uz the other just restored. Both have the w58 trans and I'd like to keep them that way but from what I understand I'll need too go too the r154 on the 1uz. Really anything is an option for this build I'd do the research on the parts for the best price but I'd rather just support your channel and your content because it inspired my 1uz build with that supra you showed off with that awesome sound the 1UZ makes.

Hello. There are some devices which allow conversion from obd1 to obd2 on some models. I see some people have success and some don't. Not something I'm interested in as I prefer sticking with obd1. Cheers Kelvin

Hello Kyler. So far I have deleted evap solenoid without issue on conversions where there is another breather system for the fuel tank. I prefer to use the evap system where possible and would be unlikely to remove from a factory vehicle as it's there for a reason and often add the system to conversions where I can. Cheers

Is there any reason why the ecu would cause this? It has brand new caps in it, although one of the caps in the kit I got was a bit higher value that the one I replaced

Hello. Price will vary depending on each looms exact requirements. Around $2000nzd for universal is pretty normal when I receive a reasonable loom such as this, alt and starter add a little more. One soon is getting upgraded fuse and relays. Every one is different so price is never the same. Cheers.

Every loom is different so price varies. Starting around $2000nzd for basic setup with all new connectors and basic relay/fuse setup like this providing the loom I receive is reasonable.
