Hi Guys, join me as we take another trip to Aston barclay Shropshire branch. in this auction video we take a look at some more cheaper stock that I am trying to buy and also take a look at a couple of vans.

The Swift shocked me, 10 days MOT, 16 years old £2k, I don't care if it's auto, that was nuts. The Aygo 165k this week, the Panda 170k last week, you should make this a bit of a thing, hunt them out, miles were high but they still looked great. I don't see the small cheapies dropping for a very long time, demand is way out stripping supply and I don't see that changing any time soon.

Just a note on Honda. Had a CRZ for 8 years and was brilliant . Sold it in September and my PX price has since gone up 😠. Bought a low mileage 69 plate civic which apart from Fuel economy isn't a patch on the CRZ. Been back to the Honda dealer 3x already. it's the 1.5 which has known problems with the early versions of oil contamination. I didn't want the 1.0 as a mechanic friend said to stay away from the 3 cyl as they have a wet belt and turbos seize. Build quality worse with fit and finish squeaks. Had great cars in the last 14 years but this is my last Honda.

Purchased Astra J 2.0cdti Sri brand new in 2013 & still have it to this day, done 96k & only ever had to change 2x glow plugs! Brilliant car

The Infinity Q50 2.2 Diesel engine is based on a Merc engine with some of their bits bolted to it.. !

I had a 2008, Citroen C2 VTR paddle shift auto in the same metallic blue as this car in the auction which I let go to some Russian bloke stood in the middle of a field, for just 1500 quid cash. It was mint. how times change!!

About time the prices for used cars and new cars is coming down because it was getting ridiculous people are now refusing to pay the ludicrous prices for vehicles now so the industry is taking a huge hit and will continue to do so especially fuelled by EVs not selling either car manufacturers are sinking no more tens of billions of pounds profit I mean let’s be honest the day I saw a Ford Fiesta worth £25,000 was the day I went na you’re alright and now the masses are following suit in light of the global cost of living crisis

I took an auto micra in p ex 3 years ago, it had a box leak, anyway finally got the box off, found a crack, so that's sorted, good thing is I gave 325 in p ex for it.

Hi Lee. The Irish love those i20's but you just can't them. Wow lovely Corsa Van and the Suzuki. And that Ford Connect. There is some very nice Cars there today bro. I suspect the Citroën C2 didn’t do that well because the Citroën C1 was around at the same time. Both or sub-super mini (which the C3 was), so there was not really room in the market for both cars. The Toyota based car C1 will win the battle hands-down!

The 1.0 L Civic has a wet timing belt engine , the 1.5 L petrol engine much better chain .

As above, The 1.0 is a wet belt. My son is a mechanic and has had 2 of these in his garage in the last month for low oil pressure due to the oil pickup being blocked. Engines were both scrap. Same failure as the eco boom in the Fords.@@carukchannel

I just started following you and content is so absorbing. I'm astonished by insurance policy premiums. They want minimum £2,200 no matter car is 2015 Fiat Punto-£5000, or 2017 Corsa-£6600, or 2016 Merc C class-£13000. What i found odd, i sold it on, then next mot it failed on a raft of problems, yet i knew that car inside out, there was no rust other than that rear sub frame torsion bar, which my last mot station told me it looks bad, but is fine. I wish i kept it now.

I just got qutoed over £1000 for insurance on 08 scenic, was 490 last year. 9yrs ncb. Ended up paying 620 after shopping around, still almost 50% increase. Something bad is happening. I suspect they're hoping to price people out of driving to meet green targets.

Had one of the 1.3 corsas as my last car. Mostly ok engine wise but mine had the floaty ECU in the scuttle. Expensive recode. Other than that across 10 years general maintenance and more drop links than hot dinners.

The 64/65 Aygo sorry can't remember big miles but it had worn its 165,000 well.looked more like 65,000 that was cheap enough what was it £1400 , obviously not many people would want that but someone will.. That for some 1 its worth buying to drive into the ground. Maybe you should have had a punt on it lee. What sort of car have you bought on day of the sale.

You seem to do well with the leggy stuff royston, I do like a mazda 2 but try and buy the 1.3, the 1.5 always worries me if people would buy it as 1.4 you get away with but 1.5 or 1.6 in a small car is a hard sell

Interested on your chat on the 1.2 bluetech engine in that Citroen. It that the same 1.2 turbo engine in the Vauxhall Grandland? I have seen so many of those go through Manheim with under 50k miles and all listed with noisy engines.

They disintegrate on the belt and end up blocking the oil strainer,definately a hand grenade engine with the pin out,not sure with vauxhall but let's be honest they failed as a business and now owned by the french ,try a dealer for parts prices but go in bottom clenched😅

I think the honda 1 litre vtec turbo is the worst engine that they have produced. Some even compared it to the ford EcoBoost. Great seeing the auction but some of the ads in the vid are so long. May be reduce their length or make them skippable.

And the Q30 is basically an A class with a better quality interior. Interestingly apparently the Mercedes based Q30 had loads more issues than the Japanese built ones when it came to internal switches etc. I've had a Q70 for 7 years now and no problems over 80k miles (touch wood)

keyless entry and start cars prices are crashing as insurance is going through the roof, due to numbers of thefts. apparently out of 50 insurance companies only 2 will quote on range rovers at all, and even then the premium in 10 grand plus. I think those Renaults will have similar problem. stick to cars with physical keys.

It’s not that prices are dropping the demand has slowed down that’s all this time of the year it’s quiet for most dealers so if stock is not moving there’s no reason for dealers to buy more stock at the auctions hence why auctions are not selling over cap clean

I bought a c1 65 plate with 165,000 a few months back to use as a parts car,I gave 1300 for it,I used the front end on a 19 plate car where all front end had been stolen,I used all the airbags and front subframe on a 70 plate aygo that the old boy put on a street furniture kerb I used the rear tailgate glass on another car,so I got my money back and more and still left with a driving shell with lots of bits,it's all down to knowing your market❤

Better than the other units, but if your not going to do longer journeys now and then it will punish you a few years down the line as it will clog up, modern diesels are not suited for town driving constantly

Given the age it’s probably one of the Jap imports. 24kW on an older style battery. Easy to tell, if it has the electronic handbrake and cream interior. You can do a quick check on the dash for battery health on the RHS, but it can be fudged, just like when ppl clear codes then chuck it into trade hoping it won’t fault. Even with a limited 60-70 mile range it would fetch about £3k to someone needing it for LEZ. It’s built on a Tilda frame and the biggest thing to go wrong is brakes seizing.

@@wl660 loads of people want EVs but it’s down to finding the right buyer. At the auctions it’s mostly traders and they see them as high risk incase they are lemons. There’s not as many folks experienced on them. The EV traders who do pick ‘em up, and do em up right , will be making good money, but they’ll know the risks and who they can go to for expert knowhow like refurbished battery packs etc.
