Prices are still crazy imo. 2.7k for a 15yr old focus. A lot of the motors in that auction are bangers, and the risk of faults is huge. Just think what prices will be like going forward if the crazy petrol and diesel ban goes ahead in 2030.
@huwjones587916 сағат бұрын
Yes, most of those cars are what I would call a banger. I know what you mean about prices, only yesterday I was talking with a friend, he had been to look at a 2012 Toyota Yaris for his son's first car, average mileage, some service history, but owned by an OAP driver so lots scrapes and small dents all over it. Owner wanted £2300 for it. He eventually paid £2k, and we were saying that only a few years ago it would have been nearer £800 and only then if it had a tank of fuel and decent time on the MOT remaining.

It's amazing for me to see how quickly you can buy and sell cars. I usually buy bad cars and am on them for months at a time, but I also do the work myself and usually out of ours for things like timing chains or big end bearings on BMWs or minis!

Chops has the best business out of all the KZbinrs in their group - simplest lowest cost of operation in terms of advertising and inputs ie servicing and prepping combined with stock per person in business.

And Chops even gets burnt on so many cars and he works his ass off. Must of managed to fit 28 hours in a day selling the cars and keeping the you tube going.

It is quite amazing that you make a living. You are an honest trader that looks after your customers and loves your job. Shame you are not nearer, I am about to mot and service my car which has done 350 miles since last mot so considering giving up. My sister has a newer similar model and wants a specific replacement.

Would you consider getting in a few Cat N write offs and repairing them? I know you'd have to sell at maybe 25% below retail, but is there still a decent margin in it? Or are the buying public still scared of anything like that? Looking at some Cat N, they dont look like theyd need much more than you do to some of yours now...

@DaleSteel18 сағат бұрын
Do you ask that question to Tesco?
@jamespjcoombes18 сағат бұрын
Because he is adding value. He adds a warranty, he prepares it for sale often fixing issues, he moves its location. All of which affects the cars value. Anyone can buy from auction (well G3 not BCA), if people want to buy it at the auction price they can always do it in the auction hall without the additional value you get from a dealer. I did and got a bargain i know people who have rolled the dice and not been so lucky.
