Well he won't be used as a spot up shooter in Chicago so that will probably help I get that on paper OKC is this beautiful offensive ecosystem but it wasn't for Giddey. He was put in a role where they wanted him to be Ben Simmons or Lauri Markkanen and he's very much neither of those guys If Chicago puts the ball in his hands and lets him play guard instead of PF he becomes a much better player in every way

Giddey struggled with his shooting while playing as a spot up shooter. It's less relevant if he has the ball in his hands and is the one passing to the shooters. Obviously.

I think it's a good opportunity for Giddy. He definitely didn't fit anymore with OKC, when shai is just their main(and obviously way better)ball handler. But no doubt about it, OKC got the better deal, Caruso is highly coveted as one of the best role players that any team would gladly have on their roster. OKC just needs to add some size, and they're basically the complete package, imo

I agree Giddy has the potential to be 20/8/8 Coby and Ayo never - plus Giddy shoots 33.7% from 3 ball at 21 y/o that can improve - this is a wait and see - could be a cornerstone for the next 10 years - Caruso might not even be in OKC after next season

@@trevormay101 Most likely, Giddey is better than anyone youd draft from a late first. The internet always takes things too far, as well as only applying surface level information. Stop overvaluing picks, some of you are so blinded by the idea of picks that youre willing to lose out on good players. Picks are good trade assets to include in a deal, but on their own they are not as valuable as the internet people think. As i had to tell someone else; Picks are only as valuable as the franchises ability to draft and develop. If your FO is already a mess and dont know what theyre doing, you have to remember that extends to the draft and trainers.

OK children... It's your parents fault you have cameras and computers. And access to internet. CHI is a winner in this deal - by a small margin that might prove pretty big in the future - but even right now - by a small margin CHI got the better out of this deal. Caruso is great but limited. Giddy is nothing but a potential across the board. OKC didn't get better, but CHI has a chance to a great rebuild.

Maybe you should buy a computer so you can inform yourself because you sound like a dumbass coping with the trade. So what’s Chicago paying Giddey since he’s a RFA next summer? Going rate is $25M/yr for a starting PG. So either Bulls traded Caruso for 1yr of Giddey or now they’ll have to extend him in hopes of being able to develop and build around him which is the 2 biggest weaknesses of CHI Front Office. Then you build what around him without hitting the 2nd apron because you gotta resign DeRozan and hope someone wants Lavine (horrible contract). Educate yourself before you talk shit about us “children”

As an OKC fan I really thought Giddey fell off as a player this past season. He appeared disinterested in the team’s success most of the year, inconsistent from game to game, and he lacked confidence in an identity on the court. He can pass, but he was often turning down a pass for a drive or spot up for himself. Missing bunnies at the rim all of the time and wide open shots. Watched him live and his shot is so ugly and flat. You can see why he’s a bad shooter when you’re seeing it right in front of you. He has potential to be a 15 ppg 6 assists and 7 rebounds on a bad team. He’s a great investment for a tanking team.

This was a good trade straight up! Caruso is in his prime, and Giddy has all-star potential. Bulls got a youthful 6'8" PG triple double machine, and OKC got a solid defender! Giddy would easily go number 3 if he was in this year's draft! Facts!!!

Bulls robbed themselves which is even worse. You take the ball out of Colby Whites hands, you have to pay Giddey because he’s an RFA next season, no spacing so you forced to move Lavine which nobody values that contract because the new CBA has a 2nd apron, now you have to S&T DeRozan or he walks for nothing. Bulls are idiots for not getting any picks from a team with 34 picks for the next 5yrs.
@michaelahurt4 ай бұрын
@@808bboarderGiddey is better than any of those picks Coby is good but he's not an MVP candidate who needs to have a 50% usage rate. They can use him more off ball when he plays with Giddey and more on ball vs bench units. That's probably optimal anyway vs treating Coby like he's Cade Cunningham Giddey can't space the floor off ball but if he has the ball that's irrelevant. You can also just use him as screener. I would expect this to become more common over the next few years because it's just such an obvious answer to trying to guard two with one. The biggest thing with Giddey is he's a very difficult player to build around. You almost have to invent a new kind of offense and ideally you have a guy like Chet as your 5. Which is why SA would have been such an interesting fit for him. But you want to use him like Jokic where he is involved in every action. Which is why OKC created their guard-to-guard screening offense in the first place to open up the floor for cutters and Shai drives and to leverage Giddey's passing ability as a kind of spacing. It's like Draymond where if you play off him you just make all his passing reads easier. I hope they move off DeRozan and let Billy Donovan cook. Chicago could be a crazy fun League Pass team
